Yeah looks as if you guys are gonna get hammered. All we have is a paltry 1'' of snow and brutally cold temps. Stay in and stay safe. Forget the milk & bread just make sure you have plenty of adult beverages on hand as it makes it easier.

It’s been snowing here for 5 hours and still falling. We have not had snow here for 7 years.

They are calling it a "Meteorological Bomb" due to the expected intense low pressure.

Yes Crabman and it is going to explode here in NewEngland. Thank goodness it is cold, the snow will be a light and fluffy 12 inches or so.

Looks like we are going to be on the EFFIE line here in King George. Just a tad more West we will get SNOW SNOW SNOW... My local radar map program already shows snow here but the WX station says it is not hitting the ground.

Sure feels and smells like a snow storm when walking outside... I like to get one and then I don't really wish for anymore. We had our 'one SNOW' a couple of days ago hehe...

When our storms come in from the West the Blue Ridge Parkway and SKYLINE Drive along with the Potomac River does a number on the storms and we usually get missed. When they come in from the South like this one will be doing we will most likely get it...

Hoping the Power Grid stays up...

Seems weird to me...we get 18" overnight and think about starting the tractor to plow. Might even put the truck into 4wd when there is 4-6" on the road. Just another day for us I guess. Luckily we are prepared for this as we get it every year. My son is stationed at Dover AFB and said they shut down Delaware already! It makes me laugh.

I have quite a few stories from Fort Drum/Watertown Area which I believe is not to far from you. Yea, you get some snow every once in a while.

Yeah, Fort Drum is 45 minutes away. I grew up 45 minutes north of that and my wife another 20 minutes north from me. Thankfully we don't the cold temps those areas get. We are sitting at 2* now and that is cold for our area.

45 to 65 minutes north of Fort Drum? Jeeze man, that makes you a fellow Canadian...

We've been lucky so far. Only about a foot of accumulation on the ground up to now. But the forecast has snow every day next week except Saturday (with the windchill of -40C it's too cold to snow this Saturday). The Snow Bomb headed east of us, but the wraparound cold is right on top.

Just aboot a Canadian, eh! We both grew up about 20 minutes from Ogdensburg. I guess we were from north-east of Drum.

Stationed at Ft Drum in the 60’s just after 81 opened and took night classes twice a week at Syracuse. Not fun driving sometimes

4 to 6 inches of snow, I'm still driving my little 2WD car.

18 inches, I'll try to stay home, but I'll take the truck if I must. 4H, should be all I need

4”-6”’s and your commuter cars do fine? I’ve lived in central Massachusetts my whole live and have owned several 2wd commuter cars. Non of which did fine in 6” of snow. Lol! A dusting, or an inch or two, but 6”? I’d never be without 4 wheel drive here. It’s just not safe with the winters we get.

2wd is absolutely fine in 4-6”. My wife has a fwd Volvo S60- it’s a tank in the snow, and we don’t run snow tires. She’s never had anything besides a fwd car and does fine.

Everyone here in Michigan thinks you need a Tahoe in the snow too, just like everyone out east thinks they need a subaru. 4wd doesn’t make you turn or stop any better, and that’s what counts in snow.

Not normal weather for us. It's been 19 at night and barely above freezing in days fir the last 3 or so days. Still covered with ice and snow. It will all be gone in a few days when the temps go back into the 60's next week.

Where are you staying in Charleston?
