SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- A man delivering an RV to an auction site in Spartanburg County ended up dodging a brick along the way.
Deputies said they were called to a location off of Highway 101 in reference to a vandalized vehicle over the weekend.
The 76-year-old driver told deputies that he was driving the RV from Florida to the auction site in the Upstate, and while getting off of Interstate 85 south onto Exit 60, he noticed a pickup truck using its high beams.
"He got about 100 feet, coming at me, and put his bright lights on, blinded me, and then they threw a brick at my windshield," Bob Brummett told News4's Mike McCormick. "It was a shock all the sudden. When it hit, I thought, daggone, you know. Then I seen the brick come up."
The brick broke the glass toward the bottom of the large windshield.
"It shattered and the glass went everywhere, but luckily, nobody was hurt or anything," said Brummett.
Brummett said he is no stranger to this kind of scare.
"I'm a retired Greyhound bus driver, and I've had a few things thrown into the windshield on the Greyhound bus," he said.
Brummett said all he could remember about the latest incident was that the pickup truck had a loud muffler.
Deputies said they may never know who did it, unless a witness comes forward.
Brummet's fear is that he won't be the only victim.
"If they did it once, they may (do it again). They may," said Brummett
