camping dog passes

Today our good friends lost their camping dog, a 13 year old Golden Retriever named Dusty. Our family believes that when a dog leaves this world they go to a place called Rainbow Bridge. At Rainbow Bridge they can run and play again, just like when they were puppies, free of any pain they may have had in this world. There they wait for their people. When we pass, the first place we go is Rainbow Bridge. Our dogs will see us and greet us as they always did with tails wagging and eyes smiling. Then, with our dogs at our side, we will cross Rainbow Bridge together........into Heaven..........Goodbye Dusty.

True story:

Huskey (our 12lb 11 year old 'son') passed back in ealy 2003. He loved our oldest granddaughter (then 3 years old). On the second anniversary of his death, she really missed him and still mourned over his loss... and bless her heart couldn't figure out how to deal with it. A friend of ours suggested going to the place of his burial (where he loved to take walks with all of us - and - for those of you concerned... buried within the parameters of our local county ordinance) and letting Jenna make a 'note', say a prayer, then release the note with balloons that would sore to the heavens. That was the key to helping get over his death and enjoying the memories of her life with him.

To this day, we all remember the fun times with the little pup that our the pre-teen kids grew up, and, oldest granddaughter snuggled with.

(just realized we have no digital pics of Huskey! Darn-it)
