Columbus Day trip canceled...what a bummer!

Husband's job beat the camping out of us for this weekend. Instead of having a beautiful Columbus Day weekend among the fall foliage, he'll be logging in to work on Sunday afternoon and going in to work for the day on Monday.

Looks like we will be cleaning out & winterizing instead. Boo!

I think now that we have the hybrid and not a pop up, I'm going to leave my rubbermaid bins full of sheets & towels right in the camper in storage. Makes more room in my house, anyhow. I'd be inclined to leave the lawn chairs too, but I love having a winter fire on the patio while the kids are outside playing in the snow.

I'll just have to live vicariously through all you Southern campers now!

I feel your pain.......We had the same thing happen to us.
We had scheduled our last camping trip for 2012 in Walker, MN. We got the notice that work is having manditory overtime on Saturday.
This has happened only 1 other time in the past 18 years that I have worked here. I thought I would be able to get out of it, but no such luck.
I will also winterize the TT after work on Saturday and live vicariously through others as well.

Unfortunately, my employer does not observe Columbus Day ever, so we have to work on that day every year. So at least you have SOME years to enjoy the holiday - just not this one. Sorry.
