The first one was white. Bought this 2008 Ram 5500 and started working it almost exactly 1 year ago.

I travel the same corridor most of the time so the scenery is boring lol! This trip (and the next few) take me into Lancaster, PA and then across to Indiana so some of it will be a change.

I've always wanted to do this in the winter during my downtime. But I only have a 2500 and I live in upstate NY. Any possibility for me? Haven't really looked into it much.

Couple recent loads.
3 Keystone Sonic units headed for Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The load of 2 cargo trailer was headed to a company that builds concession trailers (fish & chip wagons).

If you want to do rvs / cargo trailers your best bet is likely to contact one of the big companies in Indiana. If you want to do "hotshot" work than do some searching around your area and see if anyone else is already doing it.

RV: I did the RV delivery 2007-2009. Back then, and it may still hold true, that there are few units being ordered/sold/delivered in the winter months but MANY drivers waiting in the office to deliver them. The companies also first dispatch the deliveries to the drivers that have been with them all year. New drivers get what's left over. Unless, and maybe even if, you virtually 'live' in the office, someone else will get the delivery.

I would also add that unless you do your own maintenance, your money will mostly go into fuel, insurance, and maintenance expenses.

My truck is already insured for commercial use and I'm the only one that takes care of the truck. I get 16 mpg towing 6500 lbs and it doesn't drop much from there until it's over 12k.

Just Google: rv delivery drivers

You'll find the names of several delivery companies. If you have your own authority (DOT #) etc., I'm not sure what the process is. Otherwise, you'll need to sign on with one of the delivery companies and jump through their hoops regarding equipment, age and appearance of your truck, insurance, damage deposit, etc., etc., etc., and of course DOT physicals, background checks, and more etc.

I enjoyed being a dedicated delivery driver with Jayco's delivery division ('Jet') back in the day. When those deliveries became too few, I signed on with another company that paid less per mile but said they'd find 'back hauls' back towards the Middlebury area; they never found even one. In short order, after a few west coast deliveries and many promises, I was thousands in debt and I threw in the towel.

I guess I enjoyed it while it lasted, but I really didn't make any money at it. I'd only recommend someone do this if they really didn't need the money and wanted to see lots of miles of roads.
