Commercial RV hauling

I asked for some opinions in another thread regarding hauling RVs commercially. Well as I stated I made the plunge and started doing it. A few of you asked me to post some pics and my towing experiences with each trailer. These will not all be Jaycos unfortunately, so if the mods have an issue with this just let me know.
Please don't tell me how this was a poor career change and that I will never make a living doing this. I am past those conversations. If you want to ask me anything related to my TV or the trailers I've towed then I'll do my best to respond.
Tow vehicle for all of these will be:
2003 Ram 2300 QCLB DRW 2wd. 180, 000 kms as of today on a Cummins 5.9. Auto with upgraded torque convertor and new valve body. Bullydog GT tuner set to tow, Firestone air bags and that's it for mods.
I have a Reese round bar WD hitch and a Reese 20k 5th wheel.

First trailer is a 2013 SportTrek 310VJS Bunkhouse Outdoor Kitchen Double Slide Travel Trailer.
SPECIFICATIONS:
HEIGHT: 10(ft)
LENGTH: 34(ft)
WIDTH: 8(ft)
WEIGHT: 6860(lb)

Towed it approx. 1400 miles without any real issue.
I hate long TTs as they seem to create more bounce than shorter trailers. I did not have the hitch head set exactly where I wanted as I forgot my large sockets (won't make that mistake 2x). Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck with the new job. I will not tell you how hard it will be to make a living, I already know about that with my career!

That trailer looks even longer then 34 in the pic! And no, the mods have no problem posting pics of other brands, the problems arise when someone who owns another brand comes here with the sole intent of brand bashing Jayco.

Wish you well, hope you make a million bucks!

Where did you haul the trailer too? Looks like nice weather in the picture.

Felt longer than 34 ft I'll say that. 20 ish feet of truck and then that on the hitch made for fun turns lol. That picture was somewhere in Michigan and it came back to New Brunswick.

I look forward to checking out more of your hauls into the future! I considered getting into RV hauling myself, but with little kids I'm a bit too tied to the home-front these days. I'm kind of jealous because I actually think my favorite part of having an RV is to have stuff to tinker with and have an excuse to drive a diesel truck:hihi:

Good luck on you career change, I wish you the best! You will quickly become a good resource for the forum with all the experience you will get towing and setting up for different rigs!

One of my favourite things about camping is the driving and having cool things to make the towing experience more enjoyable. I'll say this there is no such thing as too much truck. Going from a 2006 Tundra to this 2003 Ram 3500 DRW is such an incredible difference, completely different leaque I know. But this trailer I hauled this time was "do-able" with my Tundra. Would I have hauled it the 1400 miles like I did with the Ram? No way.
2013 Kz Venture Sport Trek 270VRL
Length 29'7"
Height 10'8"
Interior Height 6'6"
Hitch Weight 700 lbs
Dry Weight 5,380 lbs
Cargo Weight 1,300 lbs
DId not feel at all like 700 lbs of hitch weight. Towed awesome but got poorer mpgs as compared to the previous heavier trailer.

Ya not sure. Front ends were very similar. Truck was due for oil change (done today) and air filter was showing 70% used on the filter minder (changed it today too).

2013 Crossroads ZT33FK. Towed like a dream. Always said I would not like a front kitchen due to the tongue weight but wow this was really well suited to my 1 ton. Best towing of the 3 trailers I've brought back so far. Truck and trailer measured in around 60ft in length. The Dodge avg 10.5 mpg towing this trailer.

Yes it was a rather lengthy one. Towed awesome though. Really solid on the road and pulled great.

Towed this one back this time 2013 Puma 31DBTS. Towed really well considering the last 600 miles was in a blizzard. Nothing like breaking traction at 30mph going uphill towing. Mileage suffered due to the wind and horrible road conditions. Added a pic of the road conditions just for fun.

Length 35'8"
Width 8'0"
Height 11'1"
Hitch Weight 879 lbs
Dry Weight 8,137 lbs

that leg of the trip took 3 hours longer than usual. It was less than awesome I'll say that.

That trailer will need a good cleaning by the dealer! Looks like fun towing in the snow (not!).

Thanks for the replies guys,
I always liked the front kitchen floorplans but told the wife I would not want one due to heavy tonque weight. BUt having a one ton truck makes that easy and the best of the trailers I've towed to date. My next personal trailer will be a FK and I'll never own a tow vehicle smaller than this. The stability and ease of towing takes a lot of stress out of the trip. Even in the snow storm I felt more or less "planted" on the road.
