Daughter Made Me Proud!

So my 11 yo daughter (soon to be 12) came to me this morning and asked if she could have a "camping birthday party" next month. I was shocked and very excited! Mainly because that's an extra weekend of camping. So she wants to camp somewhere locally and have 8 girls spend the night in the 5er. I think...great/fantastic...campfire...smores...etc. But then she asks that I set up camp and leave?? My 1st response is WTF (in my head of course). She wants the DW and another mom to chaperone. So I have reluctantly agreed...My thinking is at least she enjoys camping enough to want to go and have her friends exposed.

Mine asked for the same thing last summer. I did at least get to tag along, mainly as the cook. I too was proud and honored for the request.

Yea...I think that'll be my job as cook and then I'll go home. The campground we are thinking of is only 10 mins from the house.

That's great Dan. My kids had a similar request. Fortunately I was able to attend. However, when my daughter asks (she's already hinted at it for her next birthday(9 years)), I will just be the delivery guy and go home. "Girls only!" [emoji3]

I always heard people say they grow up fast and never believed it. Now I know they were right.

Awesome, my soon-to-be 10 y/o has asked for a camping party this year too. Only she wants to do it in the back yard so they can swim also. I am certain that I won't be invited to that event more than a chef and I am just fine with that request.

And the best part is that I bet you remember it for the rest of your life!

I know exactly what you mean! Took us 7 years before we had kids. Seemed like a lifetime. Now my oldest is 12 and it seems like just yesterday when we brought him home. Damn I'm getting old!

I guess you will need to get a second Jayco, so you have a place to stay on those "Girl's Night Out" weekends. This may be the start of something new for the girls
