X-2. Especially when studies prove it causes many health issues.

What about us traveling from one time zone to another for months on end. Most of us traveling for the holidays several times a year. Maybe we should be like China with only one time zone.
No I’m not bothered by it.

I actually look forward to the time change in the fall and the spring, it helps to get into the seasonal changes.

X-2 here. Besides, I do like the daylight lasting longer into the evening.

There are two bills in the Legislature that would put Maine in the Atlantic Time Zone along with the Maritimes ( which are already there).

DST in the winter and the summer. Its not quite Atlantic time as there would be no changeover.

In the future when coming here there is a chance you have to push clocks forward coming from NY

You do know nothing changes, except the clock, right? Before DST, folks would wake with the sun and sleep when it went down...imagine, clocks didn't change. It's a mind issue not a clock issue. Here in Az, many shops will start an hour or two earlier in the summer (we don't change time) so folks can get off in early afternoon before the heat sets in...and they do it without government telling them to change a clock...imagine that.

I never realised until yesterday that it is "Daylight Saving Time", no 's' on saving.

There was an article posted on Facebook yesterday all about Daylight Saving Time. Basically it said that there is no savings of energy as once thought and it may actually increase energy use. The savings from the redused use of lighting is more than offset in the incresed use of air contioning.

As was stated above, there are adverse physical effects in humans from having to adjust to the time change.

If it was posted on Facebook, I wouldn't give it much credibility.

Also, why are all these state legislatures all of a sudden pontificating about Daylight Savings Time. I live in suburban Kansas City, a metro area that straddles state lines between Kansas and Missouri. I read something the other day that one of the states -- Kansas, I believe -- is talking about eliminating DST. The confusion that would result is mind-boggling and just plain stupid.

So the mind-boggling part is not the '... spring ahead/fall back...' twice a year but no one changing clocks?

There’s a push to make DST permanent nationwide. California and Florida are among those pushing it. The Wash Post has a good explainer story here. I dunno — safety of school kids in the morning darkness vs. more evening golf and BBQ? Seems an easy choice. Dump DST altogether.

If you cut a foot off of the bottom of your blanket and sew it on the top does that give you a longer blanket? same with moving the clock twice a year

? Apparently, they didn’t survey me. Lol. I travel constantly for business and change time zones anywhere from 1 hour to 13 hours all over the world At least every other week. Knock on wood, I’m 66 and so far, no health issues. I like daylight saving time. That way I can get the large acreage mowed during week and leave the weekends for camping.

Honestly it is nice to have daylight hours to nearly 9:00 PM in the summer. I'd rather it just stay DST though. The notion of DST has an interesting history, having nothing to with children waiting for buses in the dark, or with farmers. It was all about saving money and conserving energy, which it really doesn't.
