I`ve seen our Poodle standing on the door of the dishwasher while it was open, not far from being inside! Those scraps smell good to `em.

My two Dachshunds Hansel and Gretel are part of my pre-rince cycle! I always check to make sure they are done before I close the door.

OK, can't help and why not! Here's an oldie but goodie....

A man went to visit his 90 year old grandfather and while eating the breakfast of eggs and bacon prepared for him, he noticed a film-like substance on his plate. So he says, "Grandfather, are these plates clean?" His grandfather replies, "Those plates are as clean as cold water can get them, so go on and finish your meal." That afternoon, while eating the hamburgers his grandfather made for lunch, he noticed many little black specks around the edge of his plate so again he asked, "Grandfather are you sure these plates are clean?" Without looking up from his burger, the grandfather says, "I told you those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them, now don't ask me about it anymore." Well, later that day, they were on their way out to get dinner. As he was leaving the house, grandfather's dog who was lying on the floor started to growl and would not let him pass. "Grandfather, your dog won't let me out." Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching, his grandfather shouted, "Coldwater, get your ass out of the way!"

LOL... not sure how this goes, but years ago someone wrote Dear Abby complaining that a lazy relative just so happened to show up at their house around supper time more than several times a week. This relative left right after they ate; never did he offer to help prep/clean. This pretty much occured in an era where households may have a regular dinner/supper hour and were gracious enough to invite the unwelcomed guest to partake in supper. This poor family didn't know what to do...

Dear Abby gave some option, but I can't remember what it was. In a few days, there was a new post to Dear Abby responding with a no-fail way to discourage unwelcomed guests.

The solution? As family was finishing eating, and before the relative had a chance to leave, the husband got up and announced it was his "turn" to do dishes. He took his plate, put it on the floor for the family dog to lick clean, picked it up and placed it in the cupboard. Needless to say, the guest failed to return during dinner time

As far as washing dishes goes, the dogs can get em cleaner then Crabman can. I suppose that`s why I don`t do dishes.
