I smoke about a pack a day. Don't smoke in DW's van or the camper. Don't throw butts on the ground, that's what ashtrays and pockets are for. DW quit several years ago, but still has an occasional cig with a drink.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

20 years ago, after smoking two to three packs a day of Marblerows.

Wish my late brother had quit then, too.

Stopped smoking and drinking cold turkey in 1971... 2-3 packs during my overseas tour of duty

Just wondering...what's the purpose of asking whether we smoke?

Yea & nay

HMM - interesting query. Smoked 50 years, then had a T.I.A. (you could look it up). Decided trying E-cigs, asked my PCM about it; he was mildly enthusiastic. Would rather I quit completely, but advised E-cigs WAY better than tobacco. Admittedly, nicotine in E-cigs still deleterious to health, but absent the tars and smoke, better for lungs. Concur with many posters regarding the absence of smell refreshing (- well, perhaps not refreshing, but ...). Added, unintended benefit, smoke detectors (and yes, most non-smokers) can't detect tobacco smoke smell. My clothing also benefits from that lack of smell. Besides, what can one expect from a retired Coastie - goodness, something's gotta kill me - I certainly don't want to live forever!

Cigarettes always a struggle... Off and on.
In a off cycle right now. Going for a permanent one.

Yup, I do. Quit once for about seven months, and gained 35 pounds. Was subbing food for the nicotine. Could smell an ash tray at 50 yards! My then-wife became my ex, and it was all over. That was in 1982. Doctors keep trying to get me to quit, so in return, I keep offering them a menthol. I can't drink like I used to, and DW won't let me run around with wild women. It's the only vice I have left.

Don't we all inhale ENOUGH smoke just sitting around the campfire?

I quit in 1974 when I was 27, already smoking 2½ packs a day. According to all of my medical exams since then I quit early enough that it did no lasting physical harm to me, thankfully. Now it's just the occasional campfire... when they are actually allowed.
