Don`t Worry be happy.

At least I try to tell myself that. Have some hurricane damage, although much milder then some others we have experienced. We spent the afternoon getting two rows back online. Power was restored there also around 5 PM. Tomorrow will be spent rounding up crab pots and working more at the crab house. Some repairs will not be made til the off season.

C: Glad to hear your damage is not as bad as it could have been

Hope everything begins to get back to normal as quickly as it possibly can. My son is in Maine, and they are without electricity, but ok.

Glad it is still standing and most of all - everyone is safe! Did you have many crabs in your holding tanks?

I'm assuming the 'crab shak' was actually a building (in photo #1) that toppled? If so, your carpentry skills will come in handy.... Neat that the pier is staning. It's still usable right?

The debris in pic 1 is crab shedding tanks toppled and stacked on top of one another, the force of the water under them and the wave action caused this damage.. The "shack" can be seen on the left in pic 3 and is OK. I have 2 out of 5 rows of tanks back online and useable. That will be enough for the rest of the season as this is not a real busy time anyway. Full repairs will not be made til October. We spent the day today lining up our crabpots. Came out pretty well on that considering the duration of the storm.

Sorry to hear you suffered some damage. Glad it wasn't worse considering the pics we're seeing on network news.

Thanks, Yeah its nothing us grizzled hurricane veterans cannot handle! Floyd in 1999 was much worse for us damage wise.

Grizzled
