Favorite Campfire Food???

I've been thinking about this but I was afraid to put it in the Cooking thread.....I'm not really a cook. What is your favorite thing to fix over the campfire? We get creative with the smores! Our favorite is made with Reese's peanut butter cups followed by Peppermint Patty smores and the old stand-by Hershey bars. We also like to take powdered sugar donut holes and toast them just enough so the sugar gets a little crusty - yum! DH really likes cherry pies with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. I like the apple pies with sugar and cinnamon. It's really all about the eating, right? Share your favorites - we could use some new ideas!

I like pizza sandwichs with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, sauce and cheese inside two pieces of texas toast buttered on the outside. Put it in a cast iron pie maker and wash it down with a cold one.

Yeah - love the cast iron pie makers! Toasted cheese and ham by day, fruit pie by night.

I tell you though - my favorite are the camp sites that have the grill built into the camp fire ring. I love cooking a big thick steak over a hot oak fire - mmmmmm........

I enjoy cookies made in the oven when camping.

I gotta agree with tafische....steaks over an open fire are my favorite. The thicker the better.

Oh - forgot to mention - I found this site the other day and have started watching a few videos. I have somewhat gotten in a cooking rut and was looking for some fun stuff for the kids....

My favorite camping food is COOKED. I don't care what it is as long as I don't have to cook it.
