Ethanol (10%) at 3.05 this morning here in the Hawkeye state. Yes the state does subsidize ethanol. the farmers here appreciate your support.

From the looks of that chart it would really suck to live in California, N Carolina, or Washington.

Looks like we`re going to be paying through the nose for fuel this Summer. The media is forecasting record high prices. It hurts the bottomline for me in my business, as well as making RV trips more expensive! Not good.

Maybe somebody should take politics out of the debate on the Keystone pipeline. We have lots of oil that we can send south and eventually we can hopefully have cheaper fuel costs in North America. We don't need Middle East oil and the threats that go along with it.

Common sense and politics don't jibe. Instead, Canada will sell the oil to China and we'll be in an even more precarious position. Then again, with huge oil reserves right here in the USA, why aren't we tapping them? Seriously, does it make any sense to fund countries that actively work towards our destruction?!?!

I took this pic while driving through Santa Barbara, Cali last week... $4.19 unleaded AM/PM had gas for about $3.68 down the road though.

We are approaching $3.50 and by Summer, we will probably be there or worse. It isn't going to affect my business, because I simply increase my trip charge to cover the additional costs. My personal driving is another matter. I have reservations for July in Grand Teton, but after figuring close to $1000 just for gas for a round trip, and that isn't accounting for day trips and going to Yellowstone, I'll probably let that one go. Meanwhile, that money can be split up into several long weekend trips closer to home, and to be quite honest, I enjoy the Arkansas State Parks as much as the National Parks and everything is a one day drive or less.
