Hershey Park

On the way back from Myrtle Beach, we're stopping at Hershey and staying at Highmeadows campground. Does anyone know what the price of Hershey Park tickets are is purchased through the campground? My work has a discounted price of about $10 / ticket, but I would hope that the campground has an even deeper discount.

You can contact the campground and they will let you know. FYI there is a train track that runs along the campground. It is busy at night going to and from the Hershey Factory. They do blow their whistle.

The campground has the tickets for $41.50 / adult ticket (ages 9-54) which is better than my company discount.

Yeah, we stayed at this campground last year and the train is noticeable, in July we're going to have the AC's going so the white noise should help.

Hershey park is opening a new rollercoaster this year. Looks like it should be a blast. I live 20minutes from the park so I get to see what it looks like on a regular basis. Enjoy your stay!

They have a video on their web site it looks really slick! Earlier, thy had video of it being built. We were in Hershey last year but couldn't spend too much time, really looking forward to spending a couple days there this year, and the fried candy!

Thinking of going to Hershey Park this summer. Would you recommend staying at Highmeadow, or going elsewhere? Also, does anyone know if Dutch Wonderland is close by?

I don't know about Dutch Wonderland, but Hershey Highmeadows is a nice campground. The campground itself is very nice, but there is a freight train very close. First time we stayed at the CG, the train did bother me, but only me the wife and kids were fine. Last time, we had no issues with the train noise (left the A/C on which covered the noise completely).

If your intent is to spend some time at Hershey Park, you really can't beat Highmeadows. They have regular bus service to / from the park for free, which worked out very well for us. You also get into the park a little earlier than the general public with access to some (not all) of the good rides. When we were there, there was the possibility of very bad thunderstorms. The park management came around informing every camper of the emergency location with provisions for your pets. While we didn't need to take shelter, it sure was nice knowing exactly what and where we needed to go for shelter should we need it.

We're going to Hershey again in April for an event at the stadium, and will be staying at Highmeadows, it will be our 3rd time there.

Hershey Park

Thanks for the info. I heard Dutch was owned by Hershey. I guess I'll do some research to see how far away it is.

Looks like it's between 45 minutes and an hour apart.

If we were going for 7 days, would you recommend staying there the whole time?

I can't answer that except to say that that the draw for the campground is Hershey Park for us. If we were there to see other attractions an hour or so away from there, I would probably find a closer CG to those attractions.
