Once, hit 45 years last month, got engaged on her grad night and married the next year, we were in the same kindergarden ( did not know each other ) same home room in grade 8 , we finally got together in grade 11 after I changed schools.

Once; it lasted 22 years, 22 years too long. Marriage is a great institution and I have nothing but respect for it but I do not want to be institutionalized anymore (after 28 years of being single, I'm too used to having my freedom).

First time was a young and dumb thing. Not even 2 years. No kids. Clean break. Swore I'd stay single forever. Was enjoying life, spoiling myself, spending oilfield money like crazy, built that big shop I have, 3 vehicles for a single man etc. Then, met my wife now. 3 kids and fixing to be 11 years later, and that's a wrap. She's the only one on earth that can put up with me, and we are 2 peas in a pod.
I admire those who only have 1. I had hoped for that and was raised like that. But, can't help when the spouse does bad things.

I've been married once, it lasted 11 years and the very last thing I felt obligated to give her was the divorce she wanted. I learned from my mistakes, and actually met my current SO during the divorce. We've been together 10 years in a domestic partnership. Since neither of us is big on formalities, and are happy with the way things are, why bother doing anything more?

Way back, I was married for 9 years then divorced. 2 years later I met my wife, the person I was supposed to be with. On another note, Happy Anniversary to Shorty & wife!
