I Have My Own Pond!

I'm boondocking for real for the first time here at Sam Houston National Forest. I have enough supplies to keep me going for two weeks, and I'm set up at a nice spot, right next to a little pond. It's pretty nice!

Hmmm... Got enough Neet? How's the biting insects?

Wonderful view... I've always love being next to water and streams too but got to remember about the bugs...

No mosquitoes at all, Mopar, and I sat outside in shorts and no shirt until well after the sun set. It's really strange that you mentioned that. I camped at a "real" campground a couple miles down the road last night. The neighbors invited me over for a shrimp boil (I couldn't say no to that!), and while sitting outside I noticed the no bug thing. They said that they hadn't seen one mosquito since they arrived. Maybe the recent cold snap killed them all off.

Crabman, yeah, it's great. And totally free too. Dispersed camping. Gotta love that!
