I've been in South Miami the last few days. Been kind of cold for the locals, but I think it's nice. In the 50's during the day, and a little colder at night.
I drove down into the Everglades yesterday and saw a big gator, among other things. South Beach today was cool and rainy, but the Cuban lunch I had kept me going. Fish soup and roast chicken with rice, black beans and fried plantains. Good stuff!
I'm going to camp in the Everglades the next 3 or 4 days, and drive down to Key West one day, then hit South Beach again when it's warmer. Hopefully the wildlife will be out in full swing.
