Lights for the campsite
Campsite MOD? Not actually for the TT. More of just a lighting idea for the camp spot. Similar to a bucket light I guess. DW thinks I'm nuts. :hihi:
Took an ordinary plastic coffee container, cleaned of the advertising and decals, added a solar LED, and TADA! Accent lighting!
Outdoor solar light bought from local big box. 5 lumens. $5.
I made one a few weeks ago and finally picked up a few more lights yesterday to finish out these four.
The kids love 'em! I can't wait to get them out on the campsite! I'll post some more pictures of them "in use" when we get to go camping.

Nice idea, I do not like the solar light posts as the seem to get broken by someone walking into them.
Can I ask what you used for the light source? They look as if they were made for the that exact application.

I got these solar lights at our local Lowes. The website has them listed at $5.98 but I paid $4.98 for them yesterday. There are some a little cheaper but they are also less lumens. On the other hand, there are also some that I looked at around $9 or $10 that are 9.9 lumens. Brighter may look even better? I'm going to try these for awhile and see how we like them before I start making more or different ones.

The lights themselves are held together by 4 screws. I simply used those screws to attach to the coffee can lids after drilling a hole for the bulb to stick thru and I cut out an access hole to be able to get to the battery door without having to disassemble every time.

My setup is rope light around the inside of the awning frame. They give off just the right amount of low light and do not attract bugs and critters...
Around the table area I usually put up a couple of desk clamp-on lamps from LOWES in a small bush to the edge of the patio area with one pointing up and one pointing down. The trees leaves bounce back a nice glow around the camp site. All of the BIG BUGs go over to the lights and do there thing there not around the table or sitting area. I use the 15WATT cfl lamps in the desk lamps...
We also have a low level greeting lamp setup on the lamp post...
After we go to bed I have a motion sensor detector setup on both sides of the trailer that uses the same LOWES clamp-on desk lamps.

I'll bet you know someone that is.  I've also seen some in the recyclables bins at our county collection facilities. Haven't had a need to get any yet but that'll be the first place I look when I do....
