Unhappy Major Bummer!!

Well, finally were getting to our first weekend of camping for the season, and pretty much had everything ready. Flushed the plumbing, restocked stuff, plugged in for the fridge, and checked the tire pressure, etc. So, I look at the black streaks that accumulated since uncovering it, and decide to clean it. Was doing real well, until the ladder decided to kick out from under me! Don't remember what happened, but now I'm on the ground, and my wrist and arm are sorta in this funny "s" shape. So, it's surgery today, and had to cancel our reservations! Please, everyone be super careful on ladders.

I'm now a lefty for four to six weeks, and it took me 10 minutes to post this!!

So very sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident!!! I hope you heal fast, so you can get back out before the end of summer. Best of luck with the surgery - hope all goes well.

Thanks a bunch! We have another trip planned in two weeks, and I'm really going to try to make that one. I guess this is why they made the words "accident", and "moron". I Will be more careful in the future.

Sorry for your accident. Ladder accidents are pretty common around rv's due to the soft ground that a step ladder sits on and the tendency of the legs to dig in.

Hopefully someone will be made more aware by your circumstance.

S shaped arm! Wow you reach and clean places like never before. Have that ladder fix the other arm and the black streaks better watch out.

Ironic that just this weekend I was on the roof of ours, almost stumbled (if I had not caught my balance, it would have been 12'+ to the ground.... Had to remind myself that I haven't been a teenager since the '70's.......

Ladder are a big safety risk. I fell off one a few years ago and broke my tibia/fibula all from a fall from about 3 feet up. Hope your recovery goes well and you can get some camping in soon!

Wow, hope you get all patched up and soon. It is a bummer to be in a cast with the beginning of the summer camping season coming on strong!

Thanks to all for your concern. The next trip planned will happen as scheduled, one way or another. In fact, since I'll be off duty for 6 to 8 weeks, we have added a day or two onto the next two trips! Might as well enjoy the time off!
It happened so fast, I'm really not sure if I did it, or the ladder broke from under me. Soft ground? Yea, a little. A little slope? Yea, that too.Either way, the DW will be supervisor from now on.
