I picked up an IKEA bed. Amazing how bad the old one looked after a year of weekends

Beware buying a sleep number... if your changing altitude in your travels (eg mountains) you have to deflate it or it will rupture..
I bought a full size memory foam from Costco... never been happier or slept better...

Zinus 10" in short queen with a Zinus topper, both from Amazon. Works great for us.
As a stop gap, you can probably put a topper on the mattress you have and eek out a little more time with it. That's what we did with the original mattress in our TT. Until the underlying mattress finally gave out, it was actually kind of comfy.

How’s the memory foam holding up. Did you need to cut any on it?

Zinus 10" innerspring, short queen, from Amazon. Ending its 3rd season now, still doing great. Paid less than $250, replaced that original piece of crap and never looked back.

Do those with memory foam mattresses or mattress toppers find them warm/hot to lay on?

We spend many nights in the camper from April to October. We bought the Tochta Utopia queen mattress. It has been very comfortable to sleep on. Even on the night when we had no hookups and it was warm out. We like it so much we are planning to buy one for the house.

Our memory foam mattress isn't hot at all. We used a regular foam rubber topper on the cheapo original mattress, and it was indeed warm. So the DW said buy something that was rated well, so we got the Zinus from Amazon. We now enjoy going to bed at night.

We put a gel foam topper on ours, and it sleeps relatively cool.
Just last weekend I took a nap on my son's mattress in the S&B house (8" Zinus memory foam) and I thought it slept VERY hot.
But then it's summer here with temps in the 100s with high humidity, so it's hard to keep the house cool. I typically can keep the camper cooler than our house.

Put a real mattress in ours. The "short queen" is the same length as a Full. Wife and I can sleep fine on a full sized mattress.
$500 will buy a very, very nice conventional inner spring mattress.
We have a Sealy on ours now.
