Nice Roads in NM

For those of you traveling through NM, the state has spent quite a bit of funding upgrading the Interstate as well as the State highways. I think they started in the southern portion of the state, which is now completed. Interstate 10 from Anthony NM to Lordsburg NM is an absolute joy to drive. I think it is the smoothest stretch of interstate I have been on in a long time. We went to Silver City NM this past weekend and travelled up 180 from Deming to Silver City and the road was as smooth as glass.

Thank you New Mexico for providing nice and safe traveling conditions for us RVers.

Hey, that's a refreshing change! I've driven cross country a couple of times and so many of the interstates are just horrible. Especially the parts that cut through the middle of major cities. All the overpasses and joints have one or two inch bumps that create a lot of racket in a MH. The best ones I remember is around the Denver area. All those roads were excellent, plenty wide, and smooth.

If for a minute or two

My measure of a great road:
If for a minute or two you forget you are driving a MH and think you are driving a car.
HW180 was that smooth. I was simply amazed.

Have they opened up any of the closed rest areas on I-40?

The short stretch of I40 that I was on had open rest areas.
