Had a little trouble posting the video. Sure hope no one was sleeping in one of those boats!

Ouch is right!

That's why I have a B/U camera AND sonar in my rear bumper!

To quote "RV" with Robin Williams (one of the greats), "You wanna go back? I think you missed the neighbors cat".

From the Youtube site: "According to reports, the accident occurred due to a faulty propeller that caused maneuverability problems. No one was injured."

Bow Thrusters? Bow thrusters don't do anything but push the bow right or left. This ship was moving backwards and to the port "left". I'm thinking it was more of an issue with the tug that seemed to be pushing him that direction? I didn't see any thrust from the ship's main engine until the end when he clearly was trying to stop his rear motion.

Either way the ship and the tug are clearly at fault.

I'm sure they left notes with insurance information and names of all involved somewhere in the debris field.....

Watching this unfold reminds me of an incident I watched while driving OTR back in 2008. A trainee had bumped a difficult dock (jack knife procedure required) to get into it.....lumpers unloaded the fright, he got the green light and proceed to pull out.....forgetting the rear end of his trailer. Basically, when he pulled out, his rear trailer tandems acted as a pivot point. The rea end of the trailer started swinging around. Pushed an adjacent trailer docked in the next slot over into a second docked trailer.....total carnage resulted in 3 trailers damaged, 2 dock levelers / locks damaged, 1 really pissed off dock supervisor, 1 embarassed trainee and 1 confused sleepy headed trainer who was found still asleep in the bunk..........trainee didn't understand the abbreviations in his docking message. All loads were backed in to the alley and dropped. A small yard dawg (looks like a mini tractor unit minus the length) docked the loads and when empty put them back in the alley for hook up........ pretty sure trainee washed out (trucking insurance companies aren't forgiving) and most likely the trainer was dumped too...........
