Just returned from my Philippine trip, and what an experience/adventure it was!!

The trip included: a Typhoon, jungles, constrictor river snakes, fish head soup, always wet, NPA rebels, Red Horse beer, lambanog (moonshine), ocean fishing, remote villages, PI Military check points, great PI food, open markets, no flush toilets, trikes, jeepney's, shotguns, lots of walking/hiking, lots of rain/wind, etc, etc.,.

The people of the PI were great, especially in many remote areas where my son and I were the only white skin's around... which attracted a lot of attention along with my 6'-4" height.

Just a couple of pic's:

River system access at the village of Canalonga that we used....,

Remote jungle village we accessed via the river system....,

Typical jungle trail from one village to another in the Bicol Region....,

The Philippine Sea at Bagasbas Beach, and a great surfing area (near Daet).....,

Would I return, absolutely!

Bob

Lee,

I must have tried a couple dozen different types of fresh fish and they were all great. The Filipinos have a gift when it comes to preparing a meal, very colorful with all the sides added. I had three full meals a day, along with fruits and anything else hanging from a tree and I still lost 7 pounds!!

It's amazing what one can learn when immersed into a different culture.

Bob

ps: That Lambanog sure has a kick to it!!

Glad your back safely. It sure looks humid there. Now go sink your teeth into a big double meat/cheese hamburger.

Dan,

As soon as I shake this jet lag I plan to do that very thing!!

Even with all the shops and vendors along the main village roads, not one fast food joint... lol.
