Points to Ponder

Why do I need to search through my tool box for a 16MM socket to work on my CHEVY truck?

Just something to ponder.

Crazy, isn't it? And I can almost guarantee you have SAE sizes on it too!

Yeah that is one thing that is odd. I don't mind having to use metric as I have full sets of both. I just wish they would pick one thing and stick with it. Make it all metric or inches.

That said after living in Germany for 6 years. I wish we would just give in and go to the metric system here in the US. Sure it was a pain for the first few months but once you use it every day it is so much easier.

I actually prefer metrics having worked in the maritime part of the oil industry for 20 years. It's actually a lot simpler, but I guess we have to be difficult here. Yes I still like inches, feet etc.

Why do I have to hold a measuring cup in my right hand and pour with my left to be able to see the non metric marks?

It is a southpaw thing! "They" will change the marking on the measuring cup once "they" discover it works for us left handed folks.

Never happen. There are too many knuckleheads here, in the US, that would scream it is all part of the socialist conspiracy designed to take away our guns.

Metric measuring is a fourth grade standard, the kids are taught it. It wouldn't be an issue for them, it's the adults that would be bumping into walls, and losing their minds.

Here in Canada we have been metric since the 70's. I still prefer imperial ..

I bump into walls!

And it's not 4th grade. It's 0.5324478 grade!

Learnt Imperial and Metric at the same time in grade skool.

Can work in either. Conversion...not so much.

The real joy is having to make double-sure the lug nuts I'm about to abuse with an impact wrench neally are 3/4. Or are they 18?
