The wonder mutt who always comes with. He literally won't let us leave in the camper without him, and he's a great camper dog!

Purrscilla asked me to bump this thread as the last posting was on 08/03/2014. She's anxious to see what new JOF members have pets (especially cats) that go camping with them.

While any pet picture may be posted, those in a camping setting are "purrfurred"!

Here are our two, Bella and Lucas, which are both registered Therapy Dogs. Bella is the white Great Pyrenees.

Here is Bella at UCI during a Finals Destress event. It gives you a better idea just how big she is. However she is actually small for a Great Pyrenees.

Here's another thread from a while back that had lots of pictures. Buddy is no longer with us and we miss him but I'll get some decent photos of Little Man and Sissy to add soon.

Sorry to hear that. That is such hard thing to go through. We lost one unexpectidly last year. On the lighter side, I found some funny dog emails I thought I'd share:

Ten Peeves that Dogs Have About Humans

1. Blaming your farts on me..
not funny.. not funny at all !!!

2 Yelling at me for barking..
I'M A FRIGGIN' DOG, YOU IDIOT!

3. Taking me for a walk,
then not letting me check stuff out. Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose...
stop it!

5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons.
Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6. The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw.
You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo, what a proud
moment for the top of the food chain.

7. Taking me to the vet for "the big snip",
then acting surprised when I freak out
every time we go back!

8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests.
Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

9.Dog sweaters...Hello ???,
Haven't you noticed the fur?

10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself.
Look, we both know the truth,
you're just jealous.

Now lay off me on some of these thing's,
We both know who's boss here!!!
You don't see me picking up your poop do you ???

EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY.
A DOG ALWAYS OFFERS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
CATS HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT!!

Another:

Excerpts from a Dog's Daily Diary:
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing
12:00 pm - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 pm - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm - Milk bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!
************************************************** ************************************************** **
Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary:
Day 683 of my captivity: My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the floor. Today, I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. The audacity!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today, I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded! The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe .....
....... for now...

Here's our little bundle of joy after she got caught and scolded for digging holes in the back yard. That's how she got her nickname of The Little White Monster.

Here's our 2 guys from last weekend - A 2 year old Chocolate Lab and 3.5 month old Yellow Lab. Was the lil guy's first camping trip! The older guy kept wanting to go into the trailer while it was raining. Teenagers....

Here are our two.

This is Shelby. She is almost 7 1/2 now. This picture is from a few years ago. Still looks the same and still acts like a 2 yr. old. She is now a diabetic as of Oct 2014.

This is Farley. He is a couple years younger and our SPCA rescue. He is camping in this pic.
