Your usage may vary, I use a HP Deskjet 3752. It is billed as the smallest all in one inkjet printer. It is wireless, prints, & scans. Black ink carts are in the $7 range. This works for me but I don't print more than 50 to 75 pages a month. IIRC the printer was about $34 @ Wally Mart so if it gets damaged or destroyed in transit it's not a big loss. But again, it all depends on how much you print.

We have an HP P1009W laser. Small and can keep it in the RV year round without worrying about the ink. Think HP has upgraded to another model, but still small size. Use a router so I have my own network. Do not use printer to join to campground network unless you want to share it with others.
Totally wireless including Airprint from IOS devices.

To scan take a picture and print it.

Beware HP scanner/printers

Beware of HP scanner/printer combos. The last one I bought (and gave away) would stop printing because the color cartridges were empty, even though there was still black ink.
This was interesting because I only print in black.

I think it was Leo Laporte (the tech guy on radio) that solved the mystery: when you print in black it also uses a little of the color cartridges as well, so you are forced to buy the color cartridges.
I won't do business with people like that.
Good luck !

I have a $500 HP boat anchor. Originally bought while I was doing accounting, lots of faxes, etc.

It has 5 separate ink pods. All expensive and aftermarket pods do not work. They have date codes on them and must be used by that date or it shuts down completely! I also shuts down after the cartridges are used for 6 months. I have researched and the only solution would be to take apart the computer board and take out the timer battery.

Now I have a canon cheapo and it works on knockoff refills just fine.

We carry a Canon IP110 which is small and prints well. You can buy on Amazon, compatible ink which saves lots of money. We also carry a nice hand scanner so we have office abilities of a big printer.

New Printer

I'll state 1st off I am a fan of HP printers (and in the past have had several canons and epsons - but I keep coming back to HP). I'm also a Mac user, and have been since 1984.

When I moved into my Seneca 16 months ago, I purchased an HP OfficeJet 4650AIO - And, have been very happy with it as it sees regular use and works perfectly.

However, it's not the easiest to safely transport (unless I suppose you want to repack it in it's original box).

So - I've been thinking about a small, mobile printer, and found the HP OfficeJet 250AIO. Not only is it really compact, but it has a full feature set, and there are several aftermarket case manufacturers out there.

I set it up today, printed a few sample pages, and so far feel it's a really great printer that will suit my needs perfectly.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks Gang
We ended up with an HP 3755. Very affordable, small footprint and will print wireless without a router. And the cat likes it.

Be careful printing wireless in a campground if your are using the campground WiFi. without a router and using campground Wifi you are on the same network as everyone else.
I have have seen people printing on other peoples printers but with a router you are on your own network.

Good point, thanks. Next step now that we about to go FT is a Verizon Jet-Pack for data and working on-line. It is essentially an encrypted hot spot.
