Why do banks charge a fee due to insufficient funds when they already know you're broke?

On top of that, I just heard about a lot of the big banks will now reopen your closed account without your permission if they receive a long-delayed and forgotten check for deposit, or an old debit that has been totally forgotten. Then, of course, they will charge an account re-opening fee, and a charge for not maintaining the minimum deposit amount (even though they KNOW there is supposed to be zero dollars in a closed account !!). It ought to be illegal to do this, but apparently it's not. JMHO.

It really irks me that a bank can charge $2.31 for intrest on a $365 account for 30 days which would amount to $27.72 a year. Then they pay me only $250 for the $10,000 certificate they have.

Lee, that one has been there for years and is still renuable. I am not making any changes to that one. Most now are like .05% or less.025%. I don't even want to talk about them.

A school house observation: The state is quick to recognize any "special needs" students and goes to great lengths to accomodate them. After they turn 18 if they do something wrong they fine them or just put them in jail like everyone else. No one is special after their 18th birthday.

Random thoughts - Off Topics - Hijacks - What say you?

Drove by a storage lot today and saw lots of smoke. After further investigation I could see a camper on fire...really sad....

Random thoughts thread...

Not every thought needs its own thread, let's just make one huge one for the less worthy!

I'll start it up.

I've been growing my beard out, 2 months tommorow. 2 months is the longest I've lasted yet, sooOo go me!

The weather guy on the local news said the long range forecasts indicate a colder than normal March. What I think when I hear that is the snow won't melt until August. I'm never going to see my camper again.

Looking forward to warm weather. Really tired of the snow and cold. I'm just glad we don't live in the Northeast. Those poor people have really been hit hard this winter.
