Ready to go but way too cold

I'm all set. Camper is ready. Now if I could only get a few warm, sunny days here in Wisconsin I'd go camping. Late June and freezing my arse off. One of the coldest Summer's on record. One year I went camping in northern Wisconsin over July 4th. SNOWFLAKES!!! Unbelievable. Weather better shape up fast!

Sweatshirt with hood, 12 cup coffeepot, and a furnace. You're good to go!

C'mon, it's Wisconsin . The good news is it looks like the temps are on an upswing. We just got back from 2 week long trips, Point Beach and Kettle Moraine northern unit. It was pretty nice during the day but a little cool, upper 50's, at night. I'd rather camp in cooler weather than hot humid weather.

Get away from MKE and it warms up. When we lived there we enjoyed two springs, an early one twenty miles from the lakefront and a later within ten miles. That said, my heat pump has fired up a few times on cool mornings this month.

Your lucky. You could be in Houston where we have been in the 90’s for several weeks.

Enjoy the journey

Cool is fine, I can bundle up, have a nice camp fire, turn the heat on if needed. Last campout, I had the electric heater element on the AC all weekend.

I'm just tired of all the rain!

We had a long weekend in the UP the weekend before last. A bit of rain on Friday but otherwise absolutely beautiful. Until yesterday it's been in the 60s which for us is about perfect for camping, hiking and biking. It's weather like this that makes a campfire worth while. We don't even camp in July or August. Just too hot.

But JA is right, it's time for the rain to stop. We were in Door County in mid-May and had two solid days of rain.

We camp year around......I'll take 20's over the "feels like 131F" we're currently dealing with......and it's definitely not a "dry heat" in TN

I will send you some heat. It has been over 100 degrees here for over the past week.

Dry heat. Yeah right. I've been in the desert when it's 100+. It's still really hot and you still sweat. It's just that the sweat dries off right away.

Yup, 104 here today. We camp anyway because there are some nice state parks near us.

Mark Twain is alleged to have said “The coldest winter I ever saw was a summer in San Francisco”. Obviously he never made it to Wisconsin in the summer.
