Recommendations for a really good set of binoculars.

I have some regular binoculars, but I want a really good set to watch wild life, birds, viewing the mountains while sitting in my chair at camp, etc...

I have an unusually wide head/face and often I have to view through one side or the other side as I cannot get both eyes to view through the binoculars correctly at the same time.

Anybody have a recommendation as to what a really good set would be?

I really like my Nikon binoculars I got a few years ago. Great clear glass, adjustments that actually adjust and they weren't stratosphere expensive. Optics are one of those "you get what you pay for items", and these seem like they are on that break point of not being overly expensive while still delivering acceptable quality.

Good glass is not cheap. Determine ur budget and then look through as many in that price range as you can. Vortex makes some good quality moderately priced glass that are popular with hunters.

I didn't really want to spend more than 6 or 7 hundred bucks for the binoculars. There are so many to choose from that I decided to come in hear and ask for advice.

If you just plan on using them in camp why not look into getting a spotting scope on a stand.

I've never used a spotting scope. Didn't even consider one. Would it be better than my regular Bausch and Lomb 10x42 binoculars?

I was trying to get better than I currently have.

I got a set of 10-42 vortex that I like. They have a unconditional warranty. I would Shop for a good sale It's always nice to save money

If you have a problem fitting to a regular pair of binocs, then I'd certainly visit a Cabellas or Sportsmans Warehouse and try some firsthand ... Our store will let you take some outside and give them a "Hands On" review prior to purchase.. I'm a landscape/wildlife photographer and I can tell you that you DO get what you pay for... That said, if you're looking to spend 6-700 dollars, you can get a really nice set for that money..

Fujinon Binoculars are the best way to go. Lifetime warranty and the optics are superb.

I have Nikons that I'm very satisfied with. Everyone who has looked through them has commented on the clarity and brightness. They were nowhere near 700$.

We stopped by one of our local a sporting goods shops yesterday. I tried several pair out and found some that were nice. I have to admit, the Fujinon Posiden 10x50's with the rubber coating were my favorite. The eye pieces could open wider than I needed, which for me is rare. They were $549.95, then I used my military discount and added tax which came to $520.60. Not too bad.

The nikons were very nice, but I had a problem with the eyepieces not opening up enough. A few of the Bushnells were nice too and one fit perfectly, but there was no focal adjustment on that one.

There ended up being several good choices that I could pick from. I had no idea that there were so many different binoculars to choose from. They must of had different 20 pair available to select from.
