Running Thread for dailey activities.

I'm sure happy to see the activity pick up on the forum. It's a great place for me to hang out. I hope I can contribute to the forum and it's members.

I was thinking of us running an ongoing thread for member to check into, possible on a dailey basis. To let others know what's happening in your life and your part of the world. If it's nothing but a weather report.

I just enjoy seing the activity and getting to know about new places to camp and ideas about the Jayco line. I normally get up in the morning before anyone else. While drinking my coffee check the e-mail, read the newspaper on-line, check into a couple of nets on Ham Radio and check a couple of RV related forums. I've met some really great folks on the RV forums, even camped with a few and learned about a lot of nice parks I was unaware of.

The low here in the Florida Panhandle was 45 degrees last night. It was suppose to be cloudy here today, but the sun is shinning brightly here in the Sunshine State. I know everyone is not retired as I am, but would like to hear from you.

Have a great day ALL!

Jim

Hi Leeman! DH did have one pretty scary domestic situation that he drove up on when he was still a rookie. His back-up was still about a minute away and as he pulled up, the guy came outside shielding himself with his wife and brandishing a gun! Don is real adept at communicating with "the bad guy" and was ultimately able to talk the guy out of the situation. Another time, he walked into a taxi cab office looking for a guy who just robbed a bank down the street. What are the chances, but there the guy was.... waiting for a cab! He did catch the guy by surprise so he had the upper hand and stayed safe.

I used to love to ride on patrol with Don. I was a military police officer when I was 18, so it was neat that I had a love of law enforcement that I could share with him

Hi Leeman,

Thank you for the response. Things are changing in LE and not necessarily for good. My son is a Deputy Sheriff. He has worked the road and was also into investigations. He's now working with the D.A.R.E. Program in the county schools and also working with the Neighborhood Watch Programs throughout the county. He enjoys it and loves working with the youth.

After 35 years I had seen a lot of change in LE. Much of it for the good, some not so good.

50 degrees outside here in Florida right now. We are having a warming trend, then lots of rain on the way. Weatherman tells us there may be some sever weather tomorrow evening when a cold front collides with this warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe some of the other members will jump in here and tell us what is happening in their part of the country.

Hope all have a great and a safe weekend.

Jim

I think One Country Boy is the one who first told me about this forum two years before I bought one.
What happened to him?

We tried to
Meet up way back when. I think he had to stop camping to care for a elderly relative. Not sure.

The way his posting just stopped does suggest something serious, it seems he was a regular here in the early days of the forum.
