Favorite: I nice thunderstorm after sitting by the fire watching the sun set.

Least: Bongo drums. I stayed in one place that a couple from NY brought a set, and played it from day light till 4 hours after dark for two days. Finally, there was a staff change in the campground office and when the older gentlemen took over, he promptly told them to either give him the drums, or leave. They had the car packed in 15 minutes.

At our last camp several groups got together and rented cabins - then they would gather on the porches every night and play Bluegrass. It was entertaining to watch and hear each night while out for our walks. Bluegrass is not my favorite, but 1)...these boys were good....and 2) myself and DW have Bluegrass in our roots....

Can we have more than one favorite? I'm torn between 2 favaorites so I'm listing them both.

Favorite #1 = Sound of waves crashing on the beach (Point Beach State Forest, Two Rivers, WI)
Favorite #2 = Sea lions honking (Moss Landing RV Park, Moss Landing, CA)

Least favorite sound = loud country music until the wee hours... Actually, any loud music...

Cool

Most Favorite Sound: A crackling fire and the distant sound of yelping coyotes.

Least Favorite Sound....I have two: barking dogs at 5am and loud arguing spouses which has turned physical.

Our favorite Smell: Burning campfires at dinner time with no wind blowing. You sure can get a good smelling sample of what is cooking.

I like to hear the crackle of a fire and the DISTANT sound of a train whistle while it is very quiet at night.

I love the sound of a crackling fire and the silence of the night.

I hate the sound of arguing people and the foul language that goes with it. It doesnt happen often, but it is the worst sound you will ever hear!

My favorite - Rain/Thunderstorm on the tent (and now my HTT)

My least favorite - loud music and vulgar language from "campers" that don't respect quiet hours, or even the idea that they aren't the only people in the CG

Favorite sound: Talking and laughter from the 5 of us (hubby and 3 kids) around the campfire.
Least favorite: The incessant dog barking that we can never seem to escape from. It seems it only comes from the dogs that are tied up and ignored. If one brings their dog camping, include him in the fun.

Favorite sound: The call of the loons, and water lapping against the shore.

Least favorite sound: Yepping dogs (that's why we don't take our dog camping).

The sounds of camping....what are your most and least favorite?

Favorite sounds: A group/family talking/laughing around a fire in the evening. A good time is infectious. Also the sound of moving water. At one of our favorite campgrounds you can hear the river from our favorite site. I go sit near it in the morning and drink my coffee before the rest of my family gets up.

Least favorite: The sound of kids screaming and riding their bikes at 5:30 AM. It's not their fault. Parents should teach their kids to respect others. Yes kids will be kids but I see parents that just don't care! I have a daughter who rides with training wheels right now. I never let her ride early or late because it's noisy. Also like others have mentioned, the barking dog isn't half as bad as the barking owner 😕
