The Tool, Equipment, and Project Thread
I'm sure that many of us here on JOF enjoy working on projects, building things, and working with tools and equipment. I thought it would be fun to start a new thread to discuss some of the things we are working on, new tools, etc.
I'll start. I just picked up a new portable Dewalt welding table. I knew that it would fold for storage but I'm super excited to see that it fits perfectly on top of one of my roll away boxes when folded. It's a neat little table and I can't want to try it out.
So, feel free to add your own projects, new tools etc.

Is that the barn door at Costco? I bought last years model from Costco and it was like a gray repurposed wood color. Edit: I just checked the Costco website and they still have it and the color is called granite gray.

I bought the door at Menards. It was $179 and measures 84" by 37". It's made of pine. I got the 6'6" track assembly off Amazon for $41. I'm waiting on my wife's must-have handle she ordered off Etsy for $41 that's not in the picture.
EDIT: the door came as a naked wood and I primed and painted it white after cutting a kerf with a router in the bottom for the guide pin to ride in.

This has been my latest quarantine project. Built a “Hammocan” for my Yaesu radio and working on installing a quick mount for my new VHF/UHF antenna on the rear ladder of the small camper. Ran the coax down the ladder then up through the belly and put a connection hidden behind the dinette seat.
Waiting for the rest of some small parts to finish the radio setup

I had a water leak in a basement closet. Due to wood damage I tore down the closet an rebuilt it. A little larger than the old one.
Not being a Martha Stewart (wouldn't want to be either) I tried to decorate the wall a little. I used the fishing net I got from my Grandfather along with a few of his rods an reels. R.I.P Grandpa, I hope you like it
Couldn't stop there I decided to deal with the other wall an the lighting in the basement while I was at it. Still workin on that

That looks like a great welding table. I use the harbor freight one but it doesn't fold and is fairly flimsy. Where did you find that table? I see it on Home Depots website just looking for a better price.

I bought it off of Ebay. It was the same price as Home Depot when I ordered it.

Wife wanted a cabinet for the top of the stairs. Was having a hard time finding one that fit. So I made one.

Thanks Dan. Yes sir, definitely the first time with welder in her hands. She looks kinda funny wearing my jacket, but I digress. Need to work on her hand position and speed, but she has a good grasp of the basics.

Thanks Jim. These new welders are incredibly easy to use, even for complete beginners. I can't believe how quickly she has taken to it also.

That's a great looking cube for a first try!! My dad taught me to weld when I was a kid - Made a cube at least 20 times before I finally passed his test of it holding water with no leaks!!!

Just finished a wall mounted boiler / water heater combo. Took 2 full days of no hot water but pretty happy with the way it came out. Used a pro press tool for the first time for some of the main manifold work. I am typically old school in everything I do, but damn, that tool was nice. Soldered most of the rest of the job though...
