The year without a Winter

Have you heard of the year without a Summer? Actually happened in the 1816.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Without_a_Summer

Well for us this has been the year without a Winter!

Very little snow or ice on the creeks, (we used to walk across the creeks every Winter when I was a kid) many days this Winter with the heat off, Trees are budding and blooming early, grass growing, frogs hollaring, unheard of high pollen for mid March, windows open all night last night, 84* as I type this and the 10 day forecast calls for all warm days. This is a first for me. Could actually hurt crab season, too hot too fast! But good camping weather!

It's 80 as I type this. But I've got a funny feeling in Wisconsin we're not done with snow yet. One year we got dumped on May 10th! Call me wierd but that's why I don't put the snowblower into hybernation until then. And the lack of a week of bitter cold will mean we'll have to deal with more mosquitos, ticks, etc this summer.

PharOe, we got a real snow storm here this morning... started out as rain and sleet but turned into a bit of a blizzard. It can't last though!

This has been the mildest winter I can remember. Jan. and Feb. was t-shirt and shorts weather. We golfed almost every day. It also got to 80 degrees in the middle of Feb. Then March came around we've had wind and rain almost every day.

Trying not to be pessimistic, but...We're (suppose to) going camping over Easter weekend and I'm sure that's when winter will hit here in Ohio!
