This is what not to do

https://apple.news/AG4WpzJ5GReCG1lLUCA6L_g

This idiot, perfect example of someone not knowing what they are doing, aside from the fact he’s dumping raw sewage in a storm drain. It’s people doing things like this that make it harder and harder for RVrs

I agree, it's a dump station... But it brings up a good point... Did you notice how he had his drain hose extended and laying all around?

One thing I do when dumping, since I have a collapsible Rhinoflex hose, is to keep it compressed and short and straight as possible to the drain. That way, the "surge" of liquids doesn't make it jump all over, and excess liquids doesn't lay in the hose, but follows the downward pitch to the drain.

Yeah, looks like a cheap hose, poor preparation, and poor execution of the plan. He must not have had the bayonet fitting snapped tight to the trailer either the way it just popped off as soon a pressure was transferred to the hose. Whole family standing around and watching and one kid even recording on his IPad. Makes you think this was probably a rented RV or first time outing by a family who’s just bought one.

This is a very good point. In all of the years that we have been RVing, I can't remember anyone in my family wanting to video me dumping the tanks.

Same here, my family wants nothing to do with that aspect of the trip. Not that I’d let them stand so close even if they wanted to. If something did go amiss, I wouldn’t want my whole family contaminated. Certainly not something I’d be having my kid post on social media.

Funny how the entire family literally disappears when I start my tank dumping routine. Our site suddenly becomes a ghost town...

You can clearly see Its a dump station. If you were to only briefly read the head line, the news is trying to give a bad name to campers and they try to form an opinion and not fact. As they do not want people camping anymore and wreaking our precious environment. Tmz is a total joke.

It's kind of like those home reno shows on TV, when something goes "horribly wrong", just how convenient it is that the camera crews just happen to have a camera set up at the right place at the right time to capture the event....

Judging from the layout of the location, and the background, I'd say it was at a dump station. Plus, the way everyone is acting, it does seem like a set-up.

But I have seen this exact thing happen. Not to me, fortunately. Last year we were leaving the campground, and the people two units in front of us at the dump station were obviously first timers. I could see them and it didn't appear they knew what they were doing, and ended up dumping the contents of one of their tanks all over the place. The people in front of us jumped to the rescue and showed them what they were doing wrong. Unfortunately, no one cleaned up their mess, leaving it for me to hose everything down.

Good work fixing the mess! Sometimes it seems like we have to be good shepherds to keep things from becoming out of hand. Cleaning up after thoughtless hikers and campers just becomes part of the journey

What!? Are you trying to telling me that TMZ isn’t a reliable up to date source for current news!?

It is a rental. At the 13 second mark, you can clearly see RV Rental on the side of the RV.
