Good morning,

We are excited about the purchase and the opportunities it brings.
Thor believes in what we do and how we do it.

Sincerely,

Roger Johnson

That's pretty funny. There isn't a Roger Johnson in the service department at Jayco.

I do have a clue, no need for sarcasm Larry. A friend of mine works in the service department at Jayco. He's never heard of him and he has worked there for many years. There isn't separate service departments for each line. There is only 1 service department. That's my source Larry.

Well your freind is very wrong. Each division has their own warranty/service reps and they are in different buildings. I definitely know that the service rep I dealt with in towables moved to the motorized group. How do I know, that person sent me an "e" mail saying so and giving me a new contact name.

The repairs are done in one building, except ENTEGRA, who's service building is at the end of the road.

Ok I'm wrong.... I've been to the factory many times. So when someone says I don't have a clue, I'm not going to just sit there and not defend myself. Let's be clear. Originally I was commenting on the fact who the service manager was. He is not the service manager. Read the post.

Arniesports60 clarified who Roger was and what line he handled, so how can you say that is not Roger's official title?

It's just like Celina is the Customer Service Manager for Towables and Joyce is the Customer Service Manager for Motorized. Celina"s office is the service/parts building on Bontrager Drive and Joyce's office is in the ENTEGRA building at the end of Bontrager Dr. I guarantee you everybody doesn't know every person in each division.

I think positively and say that a really good product will become even better. We are thrilled with our Melbourne purchase, literally made just days before the acquisition by Thor. Two cliches: what's done is done, and only time will tell.

Grumpy. I just read his post. It says nothing about a line or CUSTOMER service. Unless I missed it, It says SERViCE manager. When I see that I think REPAIR SERVICE. Look at my original quote. That's where my friend works. I'm done with this conversation.

In light of Jayco's business transaction with Thor, I would think Jayco has been inundated with hundreds, if not thousands of snail mail and emails. I wouldn't be surprised if they have the janitor making replies to help keep up with the volume. The important thing here is that the reply came from a bonafide Jayco employee. I'm sure the service department by itself, lacks the wherewithal to deal with the volume of correspondence being received.

Sad news indeed.

After going to lots of RV shows we went with Jayco for our first new RV.
In our research, it was the best quality RV for the money & we really have zero regrets on the purchase.
Now with this sad news, I guess our 2016 Jayco travel trailer will have to last our lifetimes.
And that could be a long time. LOL

Is Jayco going out of business?

Not out of business.
They were purchased by Thor.
The statement for now is they will continue to operate as Jayco and be an independent company under Thor.

When I had my 2016 28BHBE back to the dealer for state inspection and some minor warranty work. (By the way, 28BHBE owners when the slide is in all the way, look down in the back corner by the bunk ladder and see if you see any daylight coming in on the floor at the slide) Dealer service put some caulking there to seal it better. We talked about the Thor acquisition of Jayco. He said he didn't like it!

I'm sorry...I was being facetious. Not really 'sad news'...just big business. If you read all the posts about Thor not being such the bad guy it may not be so 'sad'.

The buyout happened way back on July 1, 2016 so it's kind of old news now.

We are so happy with our choice of rigs back in 2012 we don't plan to change anyway.

Safe travels.
