Travel Companions

So we all camp but how many travel with companions? How about picture of our travel mates? KIKI the queen and POPS service dog in training.

This is Tunces spot and I really bought this particular TT just for her. I would never go without her.

I don't have any pics on my computer, but I have 3 miniature pinschers. One will be 11 in September, her sister will be 11 in January and the third will be 6 in September. They LOVE camping with us. They used to free roam around the truck when we were driving, but once we had kids we had to crate them in the truck. They get too excited and climb on the kiddos.

They tend to be a yappy breed, so we had to buy a hardsided trailer as opposed to a popup or hybrid. The less noise and distractions they see outside, the less yappy they are.

They love camping. They have a yard and a doggie door at home, so they can come and go as they please. When we camp they know they get 2 long walks a day, and several shorter walks... plenty of new sites and smells, other dogs to bark at... they get to sit outside in the sun with the family for a couple hours and just bake. They like it a lot.

Please... I beg of everyone, please keep this about current travel companions, not sad memories that will make a wimp like me cry...

Sam is our constant 10 year old travel buddy. When we bought our current FW, the only concern for my wife was if the sofa was comfortable enough for himClick image for larger version

This is the Chocolate Monster. She is 4, but most often acts like she's 6 months. As much as I complain about her energy levels, she is a good dog who has saved many other dog's lives as a canine blood donor at the University of California, Davis.

Cats can donate too. A friend of mine had a cat that was actually the beneficiary of donated feline blood.

Co-pilot

This is my girl Maple! She is our 2 year old (Almost) Golden. She is named with pride after our Canadian Emblem and with a woodsy nod to our families favorite past time.

I am pretty sure she loves camping as much, if not more, then the rest of the family. The photo below came from our most recent trip. My bride was forced to work this weekend so we were left to travel without her. Maple was quick to assume co-pilot duties.

Menina, the four month old dog from a rescue shelter. She has gone camping three time so far in her life. I now consider her our full time camping companion.

Henk went with us on our inaugural trip up to Oregon & Washington. This was his first RV trip. After the first day of jitters for him and us (I'll just say we are so glad that we bought a car seat cover for the back seat where he sits. Double glad that our TT has an outdoor shower). He eventually settled in to traveling and loves it. The first picture was at a beautiful RV park in Westfir, Or. It is situated right next to the confluence of the north and south forks of the Willamette river. We really loved this spot with the view of the rivers. The second pic was taken on our drive up to Mt. Rainier while staying in Centrallia, WA.

Furry Baby

Here is our furry child -- she loves camping and her favorite chair is the one with lumbar support that I bought for my husband.

Tony, Scooter & Ringo. All pound hounds. If they can't go, we don't go.
