Turkey Collision

And in breaking news, a flying turkey sideswiped the trailer as we were driving. Dodged the one that flew in front of the truck, but his wingman got us...

Lol, it was a hit and run. The seams are good, so no danger of water I trusion that I can see. I'm going to caulk them around the damaged area and figure out what to do when we get back

15-20 lbs of flying car damage and considering the busted bones and pulverized meat I would not consider it for dinner.

I love turkey hunting, but they are nasty birds when they want to be.

I would put a decal on it and leave it as it is. ~CA

I hit I've y with my truck. Right through the grill and into the radiator. The insurance guy at USAA said it was the strangest call of the week.

Ouch! Sorry to see, Colby. Glad it isn’t halting your trip, though.

That's one of those things that can't happen, but it did. Like the others, glad the damage was cosmetic only.

When I read the title of your thread I thought it was going to be one of Murff's jokes; I wish it was.

Thanks, I would be much happier if it was a joke. That being said, I had a really good look at it today and it looks like it's just that one panel that is dented. It should be a pretty simple pull and replace with the biggest issue being the end caps that need to be pulled and resealed.

Thanks. Nope, looks like everything held up except the big dent. No holes and no mess on the trailer to clean up.

Not good. My boss hit a turkey a few weeks back, it took out his transmission cooler and AC. He blew the tranny.

This should only be placed once the kill is confirmed. Just like the Military marking their aircraft.😉🙃

I've never hit a turkey, but I took out turkey vulture with the left side of my windshield in my Chevy 3500 once. Raining pretty heavily and vision went to near zero instantaneously except for about 2"at the very top of the glass.

Sounds like a great joke.Wonder if that would make a great Progressive commercial. I nearly had a run in with a bald eagle. That would have been fun talking to my insurance carrier. Glad to hear it wasn't much worse.

Eagle

Here where I live in Western Wyoming, it's not uncommon for people to hit eagles, bald, and golden, that scavenge carrion along the highways. Wyoming Fish and Game retrieves them and sends them to the National Eagle Repository in Colorado.

You made me think about a guy I worked with that had a turkey fly off a hillside in the early morning hours and busted out the right side window causing it to break out, leaving feathers and blood everywhere in the cab of the truck.Flopping around in there always made me think how he didn’t wreck. You never know what might happen on the road.

Had the same turkey collision with our Greyhawk last year. Driving about 65mph, three massive turkeys flying together across the highway, the first two missed us by inches. The third one plowed right into the front overhead where the Jayco logo is. Really LOUD thump, thought for sure it broke the fiberglass. When we pulled over, not a hint of any damage. However, when we got back on the road, there was a loud irritating rattle in the overhead. The friggin bird broke one of the wooden support boards inside the front of the overhead. So had the wife drive while I jumped up there and isolated exactly where the rattle was coming from. Got home and used my brad nailer to stabilize the rattling. Good to go after that.

Sorry about the damage on your trailer... :/
