Thumbs up TV Cab Fresh Air Filter.... WOW!!

If you haven't checked your TV's Cabin Air Filter in the last year or so, I highly recommend that you do.

I have a 2016 GM 2500HD and checked mine a couple days ago........ couldn't believe the trash (twigs, leaves, bugs, etc.) stacked in/on top of the filter..., looked almost like a nest

In the process of removing my filter the debris build-up on top of the filter fell into the blower motor below the filter housing, thus I had to remove the blower motor to empty it out.

I didn't take any pics of my filter/motor R&R, but the following videos will walk you through a 2014 - 2019 GM truck cab filter, and/or blower motor R&R.

Cabin Air Filter R&R.....

Blower Motor R&R......

This isn't a pic of my dirty cab filter (mine lacked the mouse)..., but the pic represents what might be lying in wait for you

Me too. I do it when I change the engine air filter.

That dead mouse is just nasty!

Our new everyday car has a cabin filter. I have not changed it yet. But the instructions say I have to remove part of the center console and glove box to get to it. Not looking forward to that job.

I always write the date on my filters when I change them. Good friend writes the mileage on them.

I really like 1A Auto's videos, they do a really good job explaining things. maybe I am lucky but they always have a video on the repair I need.

We keep books in both vehicles that might be sort of a diary for them. We record every gas fill up, and if there's a drop in the mileage (except towing trips) that shows up, we know something needs tending to.

On the flip side of the book we write in anything that's replaced (oil, filters, other services) with the date and mileage it was performed.

These books go with the vehicles, so the next owners know exactly what was done when. Just something we've done for a long time.

I changed the cabin filter in my wifes Toyota Highlander that we had for 6 years before I read about it. I was surprised how easy it was after I found it behind the glove compartment.

This was before youtube.

I found our Toyotas to be just as easy. The hardest part was taking all the stuff out first. Reading the manual for our F150, not so easy on this one.
