TV Died - Television Not GMC

Nothing like getting up on what should be a lazy Friday morning with a cup of coffee, surfing the net, and watching TV. After about 5 minutes of TV watching yesterday morning this is what my TV screen looked like. This was a 4 year old LED tv with obviously a major problem on the left side. It was totally black due to the backlighting being totally dead. The white spot in the middle of the black was a reflection from a window.

Soooo, 48 miles to the nearest TV store and a new one was in my truck headed for installation. Hopefully it will last longer than 4 years.

It's always fun guessing when someone uses TV in the title of their post.... You made it too easy!

When you fulltime and your morning routine is upset it is important stuff. TV not working is about as important as TV not working.

When fulltiming, gotta have a working TV. Television. And Tow Vehicle. [emoji6] Works both ways. Glad you got it replaced promptly. Was at Wally World two days ago and now see 75” 4K TVs for $898. That was the highest price. $699 for cheapest. Dang. Thought I’d never see them that huge there!

I have a Vizio television that went goofy after 4 or 5 years of use. The picture became strongly tinged with red.

I searched the television menu and found the "Reset" option that restores the settings to the original configuration. It worked, and the TV is still working fine.

Probably won't work on yours, but it would be worth a shot to try a reset.

I tried everything I could think of including a reset and that set now resides at the bottom of the local land fill.

I wish I could use a larger set, but due to the mounting arrangement in my RV I'm maxed out with a 43" model.

Ha! I know many disagree but TV - the one you watch is very important to me and I don't full time!! There aren't many things I have to leave a campsite to fix / replace but a TV would be one of them...

To each his own form of entertainment. I go for the written word. Watch about 1 hour of TV a month.
