Warrior Dash

So I packed up the family and the X213 and headed out to the Warrior Dash this past weekend at Horseshoe Resort in Barrie Ontario. Although my time wasn't the best, I had a great time running the race. I see that the Warrior Dash is all over the US, has anyone else done the Dash? How was the route? Any good stories?

Have both friends and relatives that just ran it last week in MI. The ones who run love it and do it every year.

Had one friend from work and another friend who went up and made a couple of teams. They had a great time. I was invited to go with my work friend, but I declined....seems a little crazy!

The DW and I ran our first one this past June in PA...Had a blast! We packed up the 29bhs and made a camping weekend out of it. It was the best thing we ever did! Trained hard for it since February (when we were part time couch potatoes...) and it paid off. Best part was the mud pit! I did think that they could have made a few of the obstacles a little more challenging. We were very nervous going into the shoot, and by the time I got through the mud pit, I wanted to run the course again!

"Warrior Dash"

Just added another "to-do" to my bucket list...., the Warrior Dash! Just missed the recent "Dash" here in Michigan, so I have July 27th, 2013, circled on my calender. Already sent a notice of "required participation" to my couch potato nephews and friends, so next summer is already shaping up to be rather interesting

They opened up a second day for the Michigan Warrior Dash....., July 27 & 28th, 2013. I signed up for the 28th, and a few family/friends have done the same. Photos to follow........ next year!

It really was a fantastic day....I wish I had some better photos, but we made the mistake of letting our 12 year old be the "photographer"....he was afraid to push his way to the front of the fence to get good pictures!....so we have a bunch of pictures of people we don't know!!!

Pics look great!

This senior citizen is looking forward to the Michigan Dash next year (will be my first)..., heck, nothing wrong with doing something a little different outside my daily "retired routine"

Not sure if I'll master all the obstacles, but being part of the madness should be well worth the experience.

You'll be surprised...though most of the obstacles do require a little bit of strength, most of them are more mind over matter. We had 2 women in our group with us that had couldn't even do a push up, but with some encouragement and coaching during the race, they were able to get through every obstacle. They both said afterwards it wasn't the physical part of the obstacles that was the hard part.
