Anything electrical or battery related seems to go viral. As an electrician of 35 years I have seen so much BS posted it makes my eyes hurt.
How can so many people with so little knowledge of electrical systems think they are expert enougth to comment on a subject where there is real potential danger of electric shock or fire???

Why don't my 120V outlets work when I'm dry camping? All the lights work...

I chose a couple, but I really only dislike the first time poster bashes when they don't stick around to learn. I've chimed in on a couple where the poster cut wind, stunk the place up, and ran and that just wastes my time. Sometimes they stick around and learn, and then it can be fun. Problem is that you don't know which one its going to be until you've invested some time in it.

LOL!! My wife asked me that about 3 years into owning our trailer. The look I gave her said it all: "Where the heck have you BEEN for the last 3 years?!"

It was actually really funny. She grabbed a fan out of the cabinet one day when we were stopped in a rest stop to eat lunch. I just watched her do it thinking "what is she doing?". She got it plugged in, turned on the switch and nothing happened. She turned around and saw me with this befuddled look on my face like "what do you think you're doing?" and she said "why doesn't this outlet work?" SERIOUSLY??!!

Then we had to have the conversation about what systems work and when. Like I said, this was 3 years (or maybe more) into owning our trailer.

ETA: She even said "but all the lights work ...?"

I actually enjoy the truck threads. 1/2 vs 3/4 vs 1ton and gas vs diesel. I often learn something I didn't know...and I like talking trucks so reading is almost as good.

I find myself in desperate need of a good “what kind of toilet paper should I use” thread.

What drives me crazy are the folks that post on threads that they know nothing about, like maybe someone posts in the class A forum that they have a leak somewhere and someone else posts that they had a leak in their pop-up cause their canvas was torn, so be sure and check that. Or if someone asks a question specific to a fifth wheel hitch and get replies that concern weight distribution hitches.

How do you post the United States map with camped states highlighted?

Good point. But remember that SOME of these things cross over. Like in the instance of a leak. The leak might have damaged a different piece of the unit (sure, there's no canvas on a Class A), but the root cause and solution could be the same or similar since we're all dealing with flexible PEX piping and the same basic "engineering".

There's just no excuse for addressing a fifth wheel hitch question with a weight distribution answer though...
