What are your favorite smells?

Reading another thread brought this thought to my head.....what are your favorite smells? You know, what just smells good, what brings back good memories, etc.
My top three are:
1. Fresh mown clover hay
2. Bread baking
3. A dairy farm (believe it or not)

When I was a kid, my mom used to put Sunday dinner (pot roast, chicken, etc) in the oven before we left for church in the morning. We had a lab/mix named Gretchen back then. When we would get home from church, the house would always smell SO GOOD. And my dad would inevitably say, "Mmmm... Gretchen, what have you been cooking?" That always made me giggle.

Now that I'm grown and have my own kids, I'll put dinner in the crock pot in the morning before work, and will always say to the girls when we get home, "mmmm, what has Finn cooked us for dinner?"

Also, when outdoors on a winter's night, the smell of woodsmoke. And any time in the summer when someone is mowing their lawn. Along with the smell of fresh mowed grass, "Pleasant Valley Sunday" always pops into my head.

And lastly, my dog's head. I could lay next to her and smell her for hours.

For me it's the smell of Lilacs blooming, fresh baking bread, the very first morning earth worms pop out of the ground, and the diesel smoke smell from farm tractors...makes me think it's spring time field work again!

For me its just good ole bacon and eggs on the grill with a pot of fresh ground bean coffee brewing sitting by a mountain stream listening to the birds waking up in the cool morning air ... Don't get much better than that... Its always a Sunday Morning when we are camping..

That is just cruel... Funny, but cruel.

I agree. That is more uplifting and spiritual than the best Sunday sermon I've ever sat through.
