What Did You Do To Your Jayco TODAY?

Emptied our 264bh out ahead of the coming blizzard- taking it for a last tow on Tuesday to trade it in for a class c. Bittersweet, lots of great memories in this trailer!

My OEM one failed this past September after 5 years. I full time but don't use the pump a lot. I'm sure it was a diaphragm failure since the motor still ran fine. I picked up a replacement which was slightly higher gpm and pressure since the original one isn't made any longer. I could have bought a rebuild kit for the old one, but I was at a car race for 5 days and needed fresh water now. The kit would have to have been ordered and he replacement pump was in stock......Sooooo.

Hi Ed,

I pulled it apart and the diaphragm looked fine. How did you know yours was bad?

I opened the old one up, after installing the new pump and had water. I dried the diaphragm out and then placed it horizontal and poured a little bit of water on it. It started leaking through, but I couldn't see the pin hole without knowing where to look. With the hole in the diaphragm it wouldn't self prime as it was supposed to. It was a very small hole and took some time for the beginnings of a drip formed. With it trying to prime and air leaking through that small hole.......No water.

Picked up this new unit on the 18th. I watched the rain pour in the passenger window on my 2016 Precept 31ul. There is a gap of about quarter inch between the window and the outside wall. Drivers side is pretty much flush with the wall. My dealer said to fill it with silicone or bring it in after February, their service department is booked till March. Jayco or the dealer must have tried to stop the leak because there is some silicone over the top but not extending past the roof gutter. I don't know if I should try to tighten the screws from the inside or cover the edges with duct tape?

Turned on the electric heat and set the furnace for 40 deg. It's gonna get cold again.

I'm watching as my Jayco slowly gets buried under what may turn out to be more than 30 inches of snow. First snow of the year, and it turns out to be the blizzard of the century.

I hope that's not too much weight for the roof!

What a beauty. I am jealous. I could be at the Sherwood Forest Faire today in my new TT.

Oh, well. Keep the pictures coming. I like.

A walk through video if you get really bored.

That is great. Glad you're able to enjoy your new TT.

Can't wait for spring here so we can start enjoying our new TT - it may take that long for the snow to melt that's been falling since last evening. So far on the order of 2 feet.

Roger

I do a similar thing. When it is going to get below freezing a lot and for more than just an hour or two, I unhook my water hose and pressure regulator and operate on internal water. I set my thermostat on 60'ish with minimal electric heat on in the rear where the thermostat is. This way the furnace will run occasionally and keep heat in the underbelly area. I hibernate up in the bedroom with the door closed and a small cube heater in my dresser. I'm all nice and toasty and nothing freezes. I have done this down to 8 degrees with zero problems.

Fingers crossed however.

Picked it up from my dealer, TEAMRVINC in Albany, GA. Had a new surge guard 50 amp unit replaced and a new satellite outlet installed right next to my receiver. Surge guard was placed in a much better location behind basement storage wall instead of right behind inverter, pushing it out from the pressure of all the wires bunched up! Pulled it home in 30-40 mph wind gusts at a steady 55 mph and hardly even noticed the wind. I was impressed with the aerodynamics of this unit! Also impressed with the work from TEAMRVINC. Beautiful job rearranging things, especially the new outlet for my satellite receiver!

Looked out the window at it and watched the ice begin to melt off the roof. On about 1/2" of ice here, no snow. Come on spring, I'm ready to head out.
