Well we are all set to leave tomorrow...at least as we can be. My tire minder TPMS will not monitor the passenger front tire on the 5er?? I purchased new batteries on the way home from work and all sync up except for that tire. It has to be the sensor, as the others work on that tire and that one does not work on any other tire! Don't know if the sensor is bad or what? I checked all my u-bolts (thanks to hammerhead's suggestion) and they are nice and tight! We are ready to head out to Hattiesburg, MS tomorrow for our "sleep over" and then on to Top Sail SP (Santa Rosa Beach, FL) for 10 days.

Replaced the mechanical thermostat with a RV Comfort digital version, sanitized the water lines and aired up all the tires after mistakenly under inflating them last season (had them at 35 PSI and they are supposed to be at 50). The DW came out and did some cleaning while I did the mechanical work in preparation for a trip later this month.

I also replaced the analog thermostat with a digital Coleman-Mach thermostat. 2a or 2b most important changes/additions I've done so far.

#1 was fixing the storage under the bed and front past through to make a dedicated pass through totally separate from the under bed storage, and to make the underbed storage cover hinge at the front of the under bed storage.

Also added the feet to the Camco Universial stove top and put it in it's place. Wife needed more counter space and this stove top supplies that.

Set up the outdoor dog kennel. They will have to live outside. Wife, 3 kids and 2 100# dogs in a 29.5 isn't working full timing.

I'd put the kids outside and keep the dogs inside. Just my opinion.

Packed and cleaned for next trip checked tires and filled found one with splits in sidewall near bead so replaced it with spare. Looks like it's time to buy some new tires. Glad I checked all tires could have been a nasty blow out on i5.

Started loading for our three/four month haul from NY to TX. Greased axles, put gas in generator, lubed slide seals...I'm tired now.

First stop is Douglas lake in TN.

School was in session. Had the little guy, 14, help me change all the valve stems to the metal bolt in kind. I did the stems and torqued the lug nuts to the final spec but supervised him doing the rest.

What do you use for the slide seals. Had trouble with one end of mine. Started to come out. Think the adhesive melted on the slide due to constant sunlight. Had it re-sealed but want to keep the seals lubricated to assist opening and closing. Would appreciate knowing whats best to use.

Working on installing 200 watts of solar to our fifth wheel. Have resisted because of the amount of trailer disassembly required to make it happen. Panels are installed and cables routed to the basement. Even tho I have to pull a sealed battery box for alterations and a basement wall, I think the worst is behind me. At very near 70, things work much better when I'm on the ground!! That mod along with two 100 watt solar suitcases, we should be in good shape for dry camping. Bonus was that I found 2 damaged areas on the roof that was repaired. Love that eternabond tape!!!!
