What Did You Do To Your Jayco TODAY?

Finally got some eterna bond on the rig.

Did the nose cap, slide outs and the bathroom vent. Have about half a role left but I'm glad it's done. Cleaned it pretty well so we will see if it sticks.

Has anyone else noticed these vents over the bathroom with the overhangs seem cheap as Heck? The SW sun eats these up.

Do any of you have a recommendation for this? I'm replacing it every year.

Tightened a couple of the bolts on one of the Maxx Air vent covers before heading back home in the morning. These came loose on the drive down for some reason, even though they came with a lock washer. While on the roof I checked the other two bolts as well the other cover to make sure they are good. I had checked these while doing the roof inspection after uncovering from the winter and they looked good. I think now they are also going to get some thread-lock before we head out on the next trip.

Probably a better idea. They would be coming off anyway to put the thread lock on so might as well switch them...

Running the generator at the rest area to cool it down so we can get some sleep after towing it about 650 miles in mostly upper 90's temp. Here's the sunset tonight - lots of color.

I should be getting my new mattress today. Ordered it from Amazon. Can't wait to get it installed. My hips and shoulders have been hurting the last couple times out, and the last time out, so did DW's. I told her I could deal with slight discomfort, but I won't let her be uncomfortable!

650 mi is QUITE a day!! We usually won't schedule more than about 400, but then our toddler has something to do with that. He can't really sit in his seat all day like that, so we have to stop often.

As for the AC, we've got a long trip coming up, and that's one of my big concerns. We'll be towing with temps bumping the century mark, and trying to get the trailer cool enough in short enough time to just crash when we stop is giving me heartburn...

Finished off the last ~500 miles today and arrived home early afternoon. This particular trip we make a couple times each season - it's where we really use the "travel" portion of "travel trailer" - a get from point A to point B as quick as possible. It's just the DW and I and the RAM is very comfortable (at the expense of some payload for sure...). This is the first time we've done it mid-summer though - usually early April and mid-late September.

It was only upper 80's on the trip down so we just ran our 12V Endless Breeze fan overnight (one of the reasons I added a second battery).

On the way back though it was upper 90's from central Utah and up into Idaho - topped out at 99 for a bit I think. Interior of the trailer was about 88 when we stopped and after running the AC for an hour it had dropped down to about 70 so I packed up the generator and we used the fan the rest of the night.

My bigger concern at the moment is the fridge. It behaved the way it usually does on longer drives - starts off in the low 30's when we leave and is in the mid-upper 40's when we stop for the night. Almost always recovers to the mid-30's during the overnight stop. On the way home though it was mid-50's when we stopped for the night and didn't seem to do any recovering to speak of overnight. When we got home it was into the upper 60's so we ended up tossing some items. Better safe than sorry.... I'm guessing it was just plain overheated. It sounds like when the ambient temps are over 90 the absorption fridges can be pretty ineffective, especially if there isn't good air flow over the back.

Upgrade inverter to 3000 watt (was on sale). Pulled the remote wire to the power panel and an extra 2-14 AWG from the inverter to the Microwave oven. So that's 2000 extra watts more. Old one was only 1000 watt. Had to run 2 extra 6 ft. number 2 AWG.
Just have to see how the group 27 batteries will perform, otherwise I'm going to the 6 volt golf-kart batteries.

Adjusted the slide out, bottom kitchen cabinets slid over the vinyl. And re-installed the bottom and upper kitchen cabinets how it should have been in the first place.
Stove was in crooked so all is fine now. Installed also a solid L bracket midway to hold up the cabinets, because the slide out roof was pooling water.
Must have been Friday at the mfg. plant and everyone must have been in a hurry, and that in 2005. Wonder how things are at present at the mfg...............

I towed it aprox. 270 miles across 3 states and traded her in for a new 2017 Wildwood 31KQBTS. Sorry dudes, no longer a Jayco owner but I am still a member of the Jayco Family, I hope?

She pulled so smoothly and straight. We had 5 years of family memories with her. She will be missed.

Added A piece of pipe insulation to the sharp corner of the exhaust hood. No more bumps on the noggin when DW leans over the cutting board. I got the evil eye so up and at em.

After returning from our latest trip I discovered that the shelf in the wardrobe closet was quite warped due to the support rail along the back of the shelf coming unstapled. Upon removal of the shelf I found that the staples had been shot in from the bottom of the support rail and had only gone into the bottom of the shelf about an 1/8". I suspect the rough ride due to road construction along the way contributed to the issue. Added some #12 x 1" wood screws from the top of the shelf down into the support rail to fix the warp.

I bought a lot of bright happy colored kitchen gadgets, utensils, steak knives and bins to refresh the kitchen! I explained to my husband they are all necessary camping essentials!
