Oh no! So sorry to hear about that, Tom. You know, you may remember just last year I got a new front storage door from Jayco, because having closing problems, the upper hinge wasn’t exactly the same and I ended up giving it away for free. Should’ve kept it for you.

Maybe time to get a V notch tailgate? [emoji6]

Yesterday had rig detailed and reapply coat of paint sealant. New auto-leveling LCI jacks installed, solar, slide out topper, maxair vent covers all ready for a long trip. Pulled out motorhome and hooked up flat trailer ready to load utv when the sun goes down and off to Bishop Ca.

Pulled the batteries. One was at 11.9 overnight. The other at 11.4. This is with nothing running. Not even lights. Had them load tested and they were toast. Picked up a couple 6v Duracell. Should be a good replacement to my 2 12v group 24’s.

I swapped out the factory non accurate thermostat for the digital more accurate thermostat. Still not great but still a nice upgrade and works 100% better if not more.

Hey Tx, why did you go with the 2 - 6v config vs 1 - 12v? I need to replace mind and haven't really found a config/$ I like yet. Was your decision based on am/h? etc.? Thanks in advance.

Been working a good bit on the camper the last couple of weeks. Some maintenance, some repair, some upgrades. In no particular order...

1-replaced mattress with Lucid 10" memory foam.
2-reinforced bed and separated storage area.
3-repaired ducted AC airflow issue into bunk & bathroom. (this was actually quite easy and makes a HUGE difference in the CFM output.
4-repaired flickering LED light in bathroom. (bad wiring)
5-defrosted refer/freezer and checked drain lines to ensure they're clear. (was an issue in the past)

Still to come in the next couple of days/weeks...

1-replace battery(s).
2-replace outdoor speakers.
3-insulate bed storage area.
4-replace gas pigtail to 2nd tank.
5-good cleaning.

I just replaced 18' of 1/2" copper tubing from my external 150 gallon propane tank. I'm getting ready for heating weather after I cut the original one with my lawn mower during the summer mowing season.

Do you know what speakers you’re going to use?

I started yesterday getting "stuff" in travel/boondocking mode. On 10-8 I'm off to Talladega for the week. Today will be filling up my generator gas tank and putting 2 five gallon cans of generator gas in the truck for the week. In past races I have used a little over 15 gallons of gas for the week.

Started out by removing all the TSPS remote sensors and manual setting the temps in the rv and truck in preparation for fall cooler weather. Got my creeper out and looked all over for loose trim screws and bolts. I find that the bolts holding the frame outriggers and the bolts that adjust the slide-outs loosen slightly from all the boincing down the highway. I go over it several times a year and found a few that needed a turn or two.

Also adjusted the spare pressures and strapped our bikes on the rear rack.

Loaded the portable genny and compressor, checked the batteries in the truck and camper.

Fill up with diesel, 269.99 a gallon.

Hit the road time!

I was tryin to figure out how I could take my generator to huntin camp since it wouldn't fit in the back of the truck with the 4 wheeler. After a couple cold beverages a light bulb went off. I measured the generator and it was 23-1/2" wide an the door was 24" wide.
After a little trial an error I figured out that the ramps I would have with me any way to unload the 4 wheeler are the same width of the generator so I was able to roll it right up inside.
So I loaded the generator with hopes of makin it out to hunt camp today Click image for larger version

Threw out that Thetford toilet. 2nd one in as many RVs. Always the flush valve either leaking or foot valve sticking or both (Arg...). Time to give dometic a try..

I am on Thetford potty #4 since I bought my Designer new in 2010. They are just not durable enough for full time use. I can't speak for occasional use, but definitely the flush valves and foot mechanism just isn't up to the task.

Swapped the analog heat/cool thermostat for a digital one. I went with another Coleman-Mach to match wire for wire and mounting. Very easy and quick upgrade to make - less than 20 minutes. One thing I did notice is it appears that this digital model is being phased out and replaced with a much narrower model which looks like it would complicate things as it may not cover the old mounting holes.

I installed the Valterra hose storage tube this weekend. Works well, but only holds one of the 15 ft Rhino hoses. Looks like I’ll install another one next to this one and keep my stinky slinkies out of the basement!
