We only got to the upper 70’s, but we’re still waiting for Mother Nature to get serious about winter.

There was a nut on the bottom of the back right bolt, I noticed because it fell to the ground. I checked the back left one, and sure enough there was a nut there also, which explained how tight it was. Is this common practice? I never saw that on the videos I watched in preparation... I started turning the nut on the broken bolt and sure enough, it started turning! Luckily, it came out and all was well.
Colby,

The exact same thing happened to me last weekend when I replaced my jack too. I snapped off one of the rear bolts because of the unknown nut there. the front did not have a nut because there is no way you could install one. Like you I didn't see it on any of the installation videos. I thought it was just me!

Changed out my single 12 volt battery for dual group 24 12 volt AGM batteries at 90 AH each. Running them in parallel gives me 180 AH. Brought the Camco box for $23.99 and free shipping.

It's been a very busy week for modifications. First was adding an OEM style receiver hitch to attach our bike rack to.

The wife went crazy with her Cricut machine cutting all sorts of vinyl stickers for the doors and slide

Next up was replacing the window in the bedroom door with a Thin Shade. The sun had really done a number on the outside frame and I was having water run down the inside of the door if it rained or I washed the trailer. As soon as I finished the wife said order another one for the main door.

And finally, we replaced the original Denver Mattress with a memory foam one from Mattress Insider. I slept on it last night and it was pretty firm, so we'll continue to use the 3" cool gel memory foam topper we had on the old mattress.

Got the same thing for my JF 26BHS last fall. Worked out well for me.

Dewtnterizedthe TT. Found a cracked propane tank hose. Getting a new hose after work tomorrow. Sanitized the water system, I will flush out after work.. Brother changed oil in the Honda twins and ran them. Swept trailer out. Hoping to take it out over the weekend. We need out of the house. ODFW planted one of the lakes about 30 miles away. The camp grounds are not open until May 1st. We will find a place to park for a couple of days. Within a few miles. After work tomorrow the plan is to load and get ready to get out on Friday and arrive before darkness hides camping spots. Brother will have his truck to explore camping roads. We do have a backup place.

Finished unpacking the perishable food from our weekend trip to Vegas. Drained the water system and removed the hitch from the truck. Next planned trip is Memorial Day weekend. I'm gonna need to take a scouting trip to Antelope lake to check out the site we have reserved. Haven't been to this particular lake for a camping weekend in about 10 years.

About a month ago I swapped out my twin group 24 12 volt batteries for a pair of group GC2 6 volt batteries. Running those in series gives me 235 AH. Lucky for me, at the time I was still working for Napa auto parts. I bought a pair of 6 volt battery boxes for the new batteries. A little of a week ago, I added a Tire Minder TPMS system and had to access the batteries to wire the repeater. The strap that came with the boxes was impossible to loosen. I cut it off. Went back to Napa and got a pair of 6 foot Cam buckle tie down straps. Got home and used my die grinder to cut the hook off the short end, determined the appropriate length for the strap, cut it off and sealed the cut end with a lighter. Now my battery boxes are secure and easily accessible at anytime.

Got canceled because of weather forecast. Still filled propane tanks and replaced hose.

Got into the air conditioner and taped up the gaps in the ducts. There were some big holes!

Also look at each ceiling duct where it goes into the foam ducting material. Only 2 of my 5 were properly installed, three were blowing cold air into the space between the ceiling and the roof.

I also installed the RV Airflow into my Coleman AC that doubled the airflow out of my ceiling ducts.

Installed two SoftStart RV AC devices in our ACs so we can run both
while on 30 Amps... works like a champ..I was skeptical at first on
installing them myself, due to my physical limitations, but were fairly easy to install with the instructions provided on their website and the install kit tha
comes with each kit...now we are cooling better in our 43'r in middle Arizona at the time...still have to watch what we have running, especially anything with heating element like coffee pot, water heater, Brieville oven, etc...
A/Cs start without the loud "thud", so much better there...

Wanting to get the RV Airflow AC duct inserts like Route 66 Travel ...
will have to wait for next months RV project... hopefully...

Gave it a much-needed bath after passing a rather “wet” cattle truck on a short shakedown trip this week. Started waxing it yesterday, but ran out of the Meguiar’s wax I like. Picked up more this morning and did the rest, then cleaned inside, drained the WH and lines, and checked furnace ducting and a few other things.

I know there’s much debate about wax preferences. I’ve been using Meguiar’s One Step marine/RV wax since we bought our rig almost four years ago. I give it a good coat — including the decals, which I think look as good as they did new — at least yearly. I don’t know if that’s the secret, but it hasn’t hurt them and they are subjected to 100+ heat much of the summer. (That reminds me — I need to check the AC ducts per Colby’s post!)

Today trapped a mouse behind the sofa. It's only way out is through a snap trap.

We knew we had one because I got one in a sticky trap in the pantry a few days ago. Then this morning my wife found another sticky trap on the floor as it got knock off the shelf by a mouse. Then our cat was going nuts in front of the theater seating. She was spending so much time behind it, I figured the mouse went to the back of the rig behind the sofa.

Sure enough, I looked back there to see a good place to put a trap, and it peered its head out from underneath the cable covering. We looked at each other and that was that. Now there are traps at each end of its only way out.

Also have prints all over engine compartment of my truck and Jeep....
Hopefully the LEDs I put around everything has some affect. Sticky traps are going under both hoods tonight. Gawd we can't wait for our home to be finished. We are quite burned out with full time RV living.
