I saw the gap in the foam, I was unsure if I should put the tape there. I will probably do that before the first trip in July... Hoping that we open up by then...

I know there’s much debate about wax preferences. I’ve been using Meguiar’s One Step marine/RV wax since we bought our rig almost four years ago. I give it a good coat — including the decals, which I think look as good as they did new — at least yearly. I don’t know if that’s the secret, but it hasn’t hurt them and they are subjected to 100+ heat much of the summer. (That reminds me — I need to check the AC ducts per Colby’s post!)

Nice! Today was the best day of the week, so I cleaned the roof and it really is white! I also washed it and then cleaned off the black streaks (so it really got washed twice...). I've picked up that wax but didn't get a chance to get it applied today as there was a lot to do non-trailer related.

I did find a couple of holes I missed filling with foam, so that's tomorrow's job...

Thanks! I’m really glad we didn’t get a bigger TT when it comes to waxing!

I hear you! I was about 4 hours on the roof, washing and then removing the black streaks... Waxing would add another hour lol.

Got rid of the Capital grill in the outside kitchen. Made a drawer and used the hardware off the grill to install.

Replaced the TV antenna - again! I seem to have a knack for finding a branch that's just the right height to take out the antenna but not touch anything else on the roof. Don't get me wrong, very thankful there's no roof damage...

Cleaned the inside. Reinstalled filled propane tanks, put on a new tank to regular hose. I bought a braided steel line. I hope it will last for more than two years.

On three separate work days ending yesterday, finalized the hail damage repair to our rig. Replaced the shower skylight, 13’ kitchen and 13’ dinette slide awnings after the April 12 major hail storm over Llano TX. >Golf ball size hail made Swiss cheese on two of our four slide awnings. Boneheaded move on both our parts to not even think about bringing any of the slides in with the sound of the first hailstones.

That’s just one tube of Dicor for now. I’ll darken the ICON Smoke skylight later with VHT Night Shades. I would have bought their dark smoke version had it been an option on Amazon, but for some reason only 3 choices were listed. At $85 and a 2 day ship, I needed it ASAP. But 1 week longer wait and $50 more, I passed on the dark smoke direct from the mfgr. Oh well, it’s much brighter in the shower stall now.

1.75”+ diameter hail can do this

Be smart folks...if you’re inside your rig, and it begins to hail...bring your slides in pronto. Just two months earlier, we had all four toppers removed and had new double stitching done to the wall side where the factory single stitch had totally disintegrated in less than 5 years. However, the master and bunk slide toppers somehow survived the 15 min hailstorm. Both our Dodge Ram and Mustang convertible sustained heavy damage parked next to the rig. And miraculously, our NorthPoint’s roof had no evidence of any damage as I inspected every square inch on hands and knees! All 3 vent covers and a/c’s had no damage. Just how is that possible when both vehicle windshields got busted parked next to it? It was a terrifying awful sounding pounding, telling God, no no no no please stop! Something to be said here for Jayco roofs. We are very thankful we can still live in our home. Just up the street, vehicles were later carried off on flatbeds, totally demolished by baseball size hail.

So next up, we’re getting an 18x45’ RV shed and concrete pad!

The rubber roof probably helped with damage. Added a cushioning affect.

Brought it home and got it ready for the camping season last weekend. Cleaned the entire unit inside and out, got the antifreeze out of the water system and sanitized it, tested all the systems, and inspected all seals. Everything checked out. We are getting ready for our first trip of the season in 2 weeks.

My 7 year old Norcold N1095 died last night. It has power to the circuit board and it heats on propane and electric, but it won't cool. No ammonia smell or yellow'ish residue under it, it just won't cool. New one on order. Ouch!

I have to remember to take the metal door hinge bracket off of the old one and install on the new one. I have heard Norcold is still using that old molded plastic hinge that breaks on current production.

New tires, battery cutoff switch, white gas for the lanterns, fixed a leaky pipe on the gray water drain, new weather hood for the power front jack, filled the fresh water tanks, pressure tested the water system, all is good, getting it ready for a trip to Yellowstone in 3 weeks, still need to clean it inside and out from being stored all winter.

I flushed out the water lines after sanitizing with bleach/water.

1/4 cup bleach for every 5 gal of water capacity in a clean gallon jug of water. Put that in tank. (straight bleach may damage plastic tanks and hoses.) 1. fill tank with water 2. run water through system (except hot water tank) 3. let the bleach/water set for 4 hours or so. 4. drain and flush system. (I read someplace that bleach/water is not good for the hot water tank. I just flush that out.

That’s a pretty strong bleach mix. The manual says a quarter-cup per 15 gallons for a 50 ppm dilution. Do you have trouble getting the bleach smell out?

You are correct. I left the one off. Thank you for catching that.

I agree on the wax choice and we have the same TT as you. Keeps these old, 77, arms limber. Gave her a bath including the roof to get ready for our first trip in May. Installed the Micro Aire unit last year and now I'm installing a medicine cabinet next to the bathroom mirror.

Made a run to Wally World for new step rugs, wheel covers and Gorilla tape. I’ve found the off-the-shelf wheel covers at Walmart are a great buy. They are $22 for a pair and the ones I got over three years ago are still doing good. The TT got the new ones and the old ones went to the boat trailer. I wrapped the Gorilla tape around the edges of the plywood bed platform.

Picked up my trailer from service. Didn’t need it home, but wanted to see how it would work at the new house. Fits out front for loading/unloading and I negotiated a u-turn in the cul-de-sac, but due to the entry steps and curb height I have to open the door to the street side. Luxury problems.

That Gorilla Tape is good stuff. I put the Camo tape which holds up in water on the bottom of my kayak to protect it from rocks etc. 3 yrs later and its beginning to fray a little but still holding strong an protecting the bottom.
