I setup and seasoned our Capital Griddle that came with our new Eagle HT. We are going to cook some burgers on it tonight.

2X. That is what I did. Only use lap sealant around antennas, ladder and other things that are round or irregular.

Washed the roof last week and checked all caulking. Today I washed the sidewalls, checked the caulking, and washed the windows. Getting ready for our 1st trip of the season in 10 days.

One hundred miles from home yesterday a truck tire shredded beside me and the tread slammed underneath the trailer and then into the seven pin plug and Curt Echo wireless brake controller. I lost the rear camera, all lights on the trailer and the trailer brakes.

I was totally freaked out. On the side of the NJ Turnpike I disassembled the plug, checked all the connections, straitened all the bent pins(both male and female connectors) wrapped a zip tie around the brake controller to the plug and got all functions back.

If I were already familiar with the plug connections I wouldn’t have been so upset with all the failures. I now know if I have that kind of failure again, it isn’t brain surgery to get it working to make our way back home.

I hooked her up to Starlink RV. Have the dish picking up pretty good signal, even with a few tall trees in the way, and have the router locked in the storage locker. Getting good Wi-Fi signal inside. Hopefully I will get good signal wherever we travel.

Out camping. Sail switch failed again. I will have to fix it when we are back home. I am going to make a access point to fix that switch when out in woods, without removing the furnace. 4th time I have to fix it. I just straightened the sail the last times. Maybe a new switch will keep it working. I think I will change one of the air ducts that might restrict air flow to the fan also this time.

That's what I want to do on our RV is cut out and install a face plate for the furnace so I don't have to dig out the basement and crawl in there to replace the sail switch or clean the furnace....just haven't gotten up the guts to cut the the hole in the side of the RV yet...

Removed a tire and also my spare at home. Dropped them off at a local tire shop to have them swapped. My spare was in better shape than the one on the ground so it's going to go to work next trip.

No more free ride!

On the sail switch, ours went out on our Class C while on the road three years ago when we were traveling for a year. Stopped to pick up one at a RV dealer and while there older mechanic brought it out and installed it (easy access from outside) at no charge. He bent the sail part of the switch just a little. Said it would make it last longer. We lived in our Class C for total of 18 months continuously when completion of our house was delayed by COVID. It’s still working.

I would not have to cut into RV side. I would have to cut the furnace case and make a access door. I could get to the furnace by taking out 2 screws and plywood under the table bench seat.

I am guessing that restricted air flow keeps bending our switch. When I get into it next time I will address that issue also. The air flow trouble is a factory design/install issue.

Removed a softball sized hornet nest from under our TV antenna. That nest definitely wasn't there 2 weeks ago when I inspected the roof and I didn't notice it last weekend when we were camping. Amazing how fast they build them.

LOL. Same with birds. Hadn’t been out to our boat in three weeks — there was a bird’s nest under the outboard motor!

With an unexpected sunny break from the current atmospheric river I was able to get out and swap the OEM Monroe shocks for a set KYB Gas-A-just. I also used Energy Suspension Shock Tower Grommets instead of the rubber ones that came with the KYB's. Hopefully those will provide better performance for a longer period of time. The old shocks compressed really easy to remove - a lot less force than what was required with the new ones to get them installed. We'll be headed to southern Utah soon and there are a couple of rough patches on that trip so should be a good test to see if the ride is improved a bit.

I installed a power bed lift for our Queen bed. After swapping out the mattress about 6 months ago, and then adding new gas struts it was still very heavy to lift. So, after watching a couple of YouTube videos I ordered the actuator and switch from Amazon and installed it today. It's rated to lift 330 pounds.

I did reinforce the bed platform with two small 2x4's, but it was a pretty easy install. Now my wife can just push a button instead of calling me to lift the bed to access the storage area. Only cost about 60 bucks and a couple of hours labor.

Tried to setup the WDH with the new TV. But I purchased the wrong length shank, to long, and not enough holes. I'm hoping on Monday, I can swing by one of the two fab/welding shops to have two more holes drilled into it.

I did get a new 7 pin wire harness installed. The old one was about 18" short. I had relocated the wire connections into the water heater compartment years ago and this shortened up the available harness. Fine with the Dakota, but the new TV connection is up in the bumper and on the other side of the hitch.

At least one task got done
