Took the Eagle out for a "test tow" yesterday - Grand Rapids to Novi (Michigan) to show her off to my sister & mom, and to celebrate my mother's 88th b'day. I have to admit, I was a little bit anxious about the first high-speed freeway tow, but I needn't have been. The F-150 Eco-boost towed it with ease. MPG was nothing to brag about @ 8.4, but the little 6'er was pulling over 7000 lbs. at around 68 mph. Engine was turning 1800 RPM on flat land, and 2300 up & down the small hills on I-96. Those of you familiar with that stretch know there are a few sections of "stimulus" pavement that are quite the washboard. Going down, I experienced a lot of jolting from it. So while at my sister's house, I backed off one link on the WDH chains, and it made a world of difference on the way back.

All in all, it was a rather enjoyable tow. Can't wait to take it up to Cadillac in a couple of weeks for it's first actual camping trip!

Brought in the dishes and pots and pans, tightened the lug nuts, tightened the WDH brackets (since the dealer didn't do on installation), added a wheel lock to the spare tire and put the spare tire cover on. It is getting closer to her maiden voyage. Only 2 more sleeps!

Did a drive-by check-up in the storage lot.

I'll go and get it Sunday to begin chipping away at my 30 item to-do list before our season opener to the beach!!

We will be moving from Phoenix to Flagstaff next week for a few days then on to Yellowstone before the next work assignment. Checking tire pressures cleaning up etc. 13 weeks in Phoenix has been nice but it's supposed to be 98* today haha. Tin foiled the windows to help the ac keep up.

Dewinterized the trailer
Applied rubber conditioner to the slide gaskets
Applied slide lubricant
Measured out the bunk mattresses so I can order some foam toppers
Took the propane tanks down to the station to get refilled

Breathed in deep the still new trailer smell ie offgassing chemicals

Opened her up to air out whilst beginning to repack all of our goodies (chairs, rugs, tools, supplies, etc.) for the upcoming spring break trip.

Washed and waxed. Inspected the roof. Aired out the interior. Hooked up to the TV and took it around the block to check the brakes and lighting. Reconnected the LP and charged the battery. Now its time to reorganize the stored items and make sure all of the extras are working properly.

Replaced the wiper blades, usually do it every 6 months, a little late this time.

Mod to 2013 Greyhawk 31DS

Mod 1: Last week we took our first trip in the Greyhawk. Found the water filter behind one of the panels in the basement (Thanks to the user forum here.) Today I added two utility handles to the panel and used Large Binder Clips on the Left Side and Velcro on the right side to eliminate the screws and make it easier to access the water filter. I left the Filter wrench inside the compartment so it will never be far from the filter.

Mod 2: I removed the puny Ford Steering Stabilizer (I am being generous calling the OEM device a steering stabilizer), and replaced it with a Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer. I could move the Ford device with my hands once it was off the frame and tie-rod. The change took about an hour. The biggest issue was crawling under the front end to do the work. Took if for a ride and it was like driving a different vehicle altogether. Not quite like our car, but way better than with the OEM device.
BTW I chose the Roadmaster Reflex over the Safe-T-Plus product because the coil spring is on the outside of the shock rather than inside. In the event of a spring failure, the Safe-T-Plus could bind and possibly cause damage tie-rod.

Bought a new 24" flatscreen TV and articulating wall mount bracket. Now perusing Youtube to figure out how to install it. Will do so next weekend at the campground - 4th trip already!

Took it out to my new seasonal site and set it up. Have to work tomorrow and the kids have school so we couldn't stay but there's alway Easter weekend.

Driveway looks so empty without the JayFeather.

Cleaned her out, and unhitched. It was a very long return trip yesterday. We got caught in the Bundy Ranch traffic, and it took 116 minutes to go 10 miles. 3 construction zones on top of that turned a 6 hour drive into an 12 hour ordeal.
